Title: connection of switches to power
Post by: didodean on July 31, 2017, 06:59:03 PM
I have an ECHO VALLEY W digital sound system.
I need to connect the remote switches to power. The wire with the switches has two spade ends for connection to power supply. However, I have an E-Z command control center with wall pack and plug in wiring. I Think that I am supposed to plug in to the Terminal Rerailer for power. I would need a plug on that end of the wire to do so. Am I not understanding something? If not, where can I get the needed wire.\?

You'll need a seperate power supply (14-16V AC or DC) for your switches.

You can use an analog controller's accessory terminals to power the turnouts.  (They're really cheap if you go to a model train store that sells used equipment)

Or like Len suggested, you can splice the power cable of a 'wall-wart' power adapter to the control switches that the green wires plug into.

Bachmann also makes turnouts with DCC decoders in them if you're using E-Z Track.

You need a second (analog) power pack.  Look at the videos below (ignore banners in Spanish):

After you move the black switch button sideways, you need to press it down for a second or two before the turnout actually moves...
