Title: Acela goes Jettrain
Post by: Acela82 on April 08, 2019, 04:46:42 PM
A project i had in my mind for years was Bombardiers Jettrain, based on an Acela power car. I do not model Amtrak anymore, but still had this project in my mind. So recently i was able to get an single Acela power car at ebay for a decent price and it all began. I removed all the roof equipment including the roof side panels. The latter ones were cut, remodelled and installed in different locations according to prottype pictures. The roof was plated with a sheet of styrene to avoid closing all the mounting holes one by one. Styrene was used to built the new new roof boxes in the front and the exhaust duct. A friend of mine made me the decals that were applied after painting the model. Last but not least, i used Plano models e-unit side grilles for the roof side grilles on the model. Today it got its first sunlight picture...

It looks cool.  I did not know what a Jettrain was.  Do you have a plan for sound?
