Does anyone know if this tourist train is still in operation?

Dear RC,

After bouncing around on Google, I'd guess not.

One source:

http://www.yelp.com/biz/gettysburg-scenic-railway-gettysburg

Search on "Gettysburg & Northern Railroad" (freight carrier on same line) and "Gettysburg Scenic Railway".

RailPictures.Net has some photos tagged with GSR as late as July 2008, and the same locos tagged with G&NR

as late as Sept. 2013.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Years ago they had a consolidation which suffered a firebox explosion in 1995.  I thought I read somewhere, they obtained a replica 4-4-0 just last year.

The replica 4-4-0 operates about 30 miles east of Gettysburg.  Here's the link:  http://steamintohistory.com/
