General Discussion / Bachmann EZ command (kaput)
March 10, 2019, 04:17:43 PM
Does anyone know how to reset the EZ command system?  Mine stopped working.  It will power up, but won't control locos.  I'm an experienced modeler and I've tried everything.  I have good, clean track....clean wheels....everything was working until it stopped.  I don't need a lot of suggestions, just a knowledgable answer or if I should send it into Bachmann.  Lifetime warranty, I hope.
Thanks

Large / servicing a G scale locomotive

We have a Bachmann 2-6-0 steam loco at our club, used for our train show.  Can anyone point me in the direction of some instructions on cleaning/lubing the engine?
Thanks

Has anyone used an AR-1 for a simple point-to-point trolley operation?  I have opto-sensors on order to put at each end and wire according to the instructions.
I would also like the trolley to pause at each end for a few seconds.  Would I need to add relays for that?  Thanks for any help and I would prefer not to have a lot of other ideas shared with me.

Thanks Rich.   I asked Mr. Bachmann and we tried several reset functions but none cleared the problem.  I'm okay with the couple of years of EZ command.  It worked very well on my 4' x 11' foot switching pike.  I'm building a 12' X 16' layout now with reversing loops, so the Digitrax will work better for that anyway.

I really enjoyed my EZ command for a couple of years, but then, one day it just quit working.  The lights come on, but as soon as I assign any of the 1-10 buttons, it shuts down.  I've invested in a Digitrax system now.  I guess the couple of hundred bucks I spent on the EZ command controller and walkaround add on Throttle were worth it, just not sure.

HO / Re: EZ command walkaround throttle problems
February 27, 2013, 12:06:49 PM
I've tried several cables and they all present the same problem, so I'm ruling that out. I removed all the locomotives. Re-programmed each one to the same address as before. All functioning normally with ez command controller. plugged the walkaround throttle back in (as per instructions) and had same result. It will run 3 of the 9 locomotives. functions (lights, horns, bells) working okay on the 3. forward direction light still doesn't come on. and the other addresses don't light up (six locos). very strange. I don't try to run more than 3-4 locomotives at a time. tried every combination of cabling. same result. straight from controller to throttle (bypassing new companion port), same result.
any more ideas? I may try reprogramming locos to different addresses next.
thanks for your help.

HO / EZ command walkaround throttle problems
February 25, 2013, 10:52:34 PM
I have been using EZ command with success for 3 years.  Recently, I added a walk around companion throttle.  It worked flawlessly when connected directly to the controller.  I wanted to operate from another location on the layout so I purchased the remote connector panel (with cable).  I installed it according to directions (although quite simple) and plugged in across the layout.  Some of the locomotives worked, but the forward direction light did not light any longer (locos still run) and several of locos didn't light up or run.  I tried plugging the companion back into the controller directly and still have problems as described above.  I tried powering everything off, unplugging and plugging, etc.  I also tried the second port for the IO connection.  No luck.
Is there a reset for the controller or companion.  The controller still works fine by itself.
Thanks for any help you may provide.

General Discussion / Re: DCC Sound Problem

I bought a new Bachmann 2-6-0 Alco with sound and the speaker went out in about 5 months.  Had it replaced by a club guy.  Works fine now.

Howdy,
How long is the connector cable on these units?
Thanks

General Discussion / DCC question

I'm new and was wondering about the E-Z Command system.  Does the hand held controller also power the track, or do you need a separate dedicated power supply?
Thanks
