Title: locomotive definition for DCC
Post by: nemo343 on March 17, 2008, 10:10:02 PM
can you help me understand what vendors mean by DCC Ready or DCC equipped.
I want a unit that is ready to go with DCC without additional purchases of equipment
Thanks

DCC ready means that the motor is isolated from the frame and you can purchase a decoder to install. DCC on board means that there is a decoder installed in the engine. Most, if not all, decoder equipped engines can run on analog (regular dc) or DCC like ez command
