I just might be interested in one or two myself.

But then the beta testers would have to make a report first.  Like no running problems.

Here's hope they make those some day not too far in the future,

I would think the engine would NOT be a top seller as this engine was a limited era use.  Many other engines would probably be of more interest but nothing is for sure.

Making a profit is still number one for all manufactures and they can't afford is take many risks.

Still looking for the elusive Heisler which has a lot of interest.

Now here is a loco that will fit my needs as long as they don't have the problems of the running gears etc.  Of course I will have to wait until the beta testers have tried the engine out.  Might even buy two of these engines if the reports are good.

And then find a decent street price.

On30 / Re: Heislers - tell me when... ???

This has been the longest running of the Heisler in the works which started long long ago.  How many years does it take to produce an engine ?  I gave up and that will be it for I do not need a Heisler any more.  Besides the other geared engines had problems and some still wait for me to fix them ( about five of them ) so I don't need more engines to fix before running them. Costs too much to mail and insure them back to Bachmann from Big Island of Hawaii and  they do not pay for that, not one penny  !!!!

There are many nice freight cars that Bachmann makes and I have a lot of them.  No problems there at all... Six boxes of log cars (18) for the one engine I have that runs.

Those engines look real nifty and I do believe I would buy one just for kicks. ;

Like I said long long ago, "I'm not going to hold my breath" till they arrive. Same story years later..

I just have one engine that is running as one more has gear issues.  Bought these engines years ago and open one when the previous one died.  Can't send in the paperwork as who keeps the receipts for many years ?  But I can and will use NWSL to fix the dead engines so not all is lost.

HO / Re: EZ track book

Aloha

Actually I have been in the hobby since the early 50's  !!  I just was interested in looking at the book as it had E-Z in four places on the front cover and I do have a pile of E-Z track, probably over $2k worth. I believe the track is rather nifty as you can change or move it around with ease.  I thought the book would have more to offer but as I said before, most of the pictures have other types of track. Kind of deceiving to me but then that's marketing.

I'm on the Big Island but hope to move back to the mainland soon.

HO / EZ track book
March 20, 2012, 01:39:00 AM
Decided to get something to read and the Bachmann E-Z Model Railroads book might be interesting BUT I found out it uses mostly other types of track with little of the E-Z..
Really the planning of layouts with E-Z is comes up short.

Most of the pictures throughout the book, the majority is of other types of track.

This book sure is not worth what I paid and maybe at the best, be worth half the selling price but that's about all !

Bought a lot and I mean a lot of Bachmann stuff and other than the problems with gearing, which can be fixed, this book is the only item I would highly not recommended.

"What is the point of "prototypical" TOY train track?"

"EZ-Track is TOY train track."

It's ALL toys that we have but then some think not !   If that is your thought, fine.   No one has ever exceeded in making the exact duplicate of any engine that runs and looks exactly like the real ones. As far as track ? Who uses the real stuff, steel. So all in all it depends on how far and money do you wish to relise your fantasy ?  Hey your story might be different but that is okay too.

I use a lot EZ stuff and don't really care if it looks right for On30 or not.  Doubt if Bachmann would even make any EZ for On30 as costs verses sales probably wouldn't cut it.  If any thing, HOn3 is a candidate too.

On30 / Re: Heisler - options available?

Nice that the Heislers are coming.   I'll wait for the verdict on the running gears before buying a couple of them.  I have too many shelf queens already with gear problems and really don't want any more.  Some day I will order some metal gears from NWSL and get these engines running.   TOF in Hawaii

Bachmann makes Plasticville O scale buildings already and if you have a knack for a little cutting and repainting they can be rather useful in our make believe world.
