Title: Adding feeders to Bachmann EZ track - N scale
Post by: $Bill on August 28, 2023, 02:36:47 AM
I want to add feeders to my EZ track for my DCC operations, but I do not what to buy a bunch to powered track sections due to the additional cost. I there a way to solder feeder leads to every 2 to 3 feet of track? I have been testing my Bachmann DCC loco and it appears that the DCC signal does not get to the other side of the oval I have been testing on. I am using Digitrax Zephier Control. The loco seems to be responsive to the function keys when the loco in in contact with the track section the loco has direct contact with. It appears that the further away to the power track section, it appears I do not have any control of the loco.

Thanks,
$Bill

Just solder the wire to the outside of the rail.  Practice on an old loose piece of track first to avoid melting the roadbed. Use heat sinks like alligator clips on either side of the soldering job to keep the heat from spreading to the road bed and melting it.

You could also solder the wire to the underside of the rail joiners.

There's always a "way."
