Williams by Bachmann / Replacement Tender Truck
February 24, 2011, 01:54:00 PM
I am in need of a Replacement Tender Truck for a 2-6-4 Girls Engine Tender.   I have been Trying to replace this since before Christmas When My wife accidentally knocked the Tender off of the coffee table and the Bearing strip broke and dropped out.  Every time i have called and checked on this I am told that it is out of stock.

My question is is there any other 6 wheel Truck that can be used to repair this.

Thank you
Robert A. Emerson

currently MTH is now working on Producing a New Protosound Electronics board called PS3
When they start mass producing these engines  in three rail O-Gauge one of the basic things included will be DCC IF you are interested check out the New MTH Catalog on their Website and it will explain the New upgrades to their electronic boards.  Also Check out the new product review video of the 4-4-0 Empire state Express and it will tell you about the new stuff

it is possible that you could install either a Universal Smoke unit from MTH or do a gut transfer and turn it into an MTH Protosound Engine.  Either of the options are out there.  If you want puffing Smoke then you will need to do a Gut and Replace With a Proto sound board and smoke unit from MTH.  If you want a steady stream of smoke based on power put to the engine like a diesel then the univetrsal Smoke unit will work for you.  These units are Fan Driven. These as far as I know are the only viable options out there for what you are looking for.

i am surprised that 3 rail has not chimed in on this thread.  would love to hear his thoughts on track and super streets although i do understand his position a personal thought would be nice to hear.

thanks bobbie

yes Philly reading the track you have is known as shadowrail.  The Supersnap track is the track with no pins in it but with small oval shaped snaps on each end that you push together.

To tell the truth I would like to see the Shadow rail O Gauge Track again.  It was an awesome looking Track system.  Super Streets was also a good looking set up for City scenes.  It Looked like streets. I for one am interested in seeing it continue.  The Super Snap Track i have had no real good success with But i did wind up converting it with Track pins.
Please Bachmann Company listen to us modelers and help us continue our hobby with items we really want

Joe the Lionel part number for the motor is  10-8606-103

The Unit  is 103-1 Lionel says the Unit is available however the Motor is not it has been discontinued.  When pressed to how i could find a replacement  they were no help. So for about 2 years i have been looking for this motor.
I would like to get this Set Running as it would give me Three Girls Sets to run on the Christmas layout.

Also i found that the smoke unit isn't working on this thing so I am going to be in need of a Smoke unit
also wondering the opinion of you guys here on the Forum about a universal Fan Driven Smoke unit as a replacement for the Sueth unit that is in it now
