Thomas & Friends / Re: Thomas dcc upgrade help

Yes, but that yellow 103 resistor is actually a filter capacitor, you should remove it if you would like to properly convert your Thomas to DCC, otherwise it could cause intermittent running issues.

For the NG range, I might be the minority here, but don't think Bachmann would lose much if they skip out on Smudger. Even one new piece of rolling stock for the time being would be satisfying enough, if they announce the open wagons, at least we have more complete Skarloey Railway goods trains.

Yes, more rolling stock is what we need for the NG range!  Hopefully we can get some iconic Season 4 rolling stock like the D. Fusit Gunpowder wagon.

Thomas & Friends / Re: BoCo or Diesel 10
June 05, 2021, 09:46:11 PM
As cool as it would be to see Diesel 10 made, I don't see him happening.  Then again, I didn't think we'd ever get Daisy.

Personally I'd rather see BoCo first anyway as then we'd have every locomotive from the first three seasons in HO scale. (even if Oliver is based on his CGI version)

BoCo also seems in higher demand behind Stepney, so that could be a factor in him being a future product.  Daisy also opens up the possibility for Diesels with bogies/trucks for other future releases.

So again, I'd love both but BoCo over Diesel 10 in my opinion.

I have given this a lot of thought, I'm still not 100% sure what to think we could get next, but here are my predictions for the NMRA.  I'll be sticking with HO since that's usually all they've announced at NMRA.

-Sidney: I see Sidney being a very likely candidate for the next locomotive since we'll be getting two new toolings in HO scale, even though we've gotten three new repaints in the last two years.

-Rolling Stock: I would like to see some of the different vans and tankers that have been in Large Scale but not HO like the explosives van and toffee tanker.

My hope for the future is that we get Stepney and BoCo, then we would be very close to having all the standard gauge characters seen from seasons 1-4 in HO scale.   If I had to pick another CGI character I would really like to see Hiro, even though he would probably be the first HO scale engine to break the $200 price point.

Since we are probably getting close to the reveal (hopefully in the Trainworld stream on the 27th) I thought I'd give my predictions for 2021.

HO/OO Scale
Sidney
Stepney or Ryan

Rolling Stock
Explosive Van
Toby's Museum Coach
BMQ Wagon

I'm not sure what else they could release but I would like to see some other resin buildings, my biggest home is Ffarquhar Station.

Narrow Gauge
Sir Handel

Narrow Gauge Rolling Stock
BMQ Open Wagon
Green and Cream Coaches

I think having a Blue Mountain Quarry open wagon in both HO and Narrow Gauge would make sense to me.

Large Scale
Mavis

Rolling Stock
Henrietta
Red Coaches

N Scale
Gordon/Henry

Rolling Stock
Troublesome Truck #3
Express Coaches (Red or Green)

Although I don't collect either Large or N scale I though I'd give my thoughts on what we might see.

I still would like to see an HO/OO BoCo or Derek but those seem quite unlikely.

Thomas & Friends / Re: N Scale DCC Conversion
November 12, 2020, 09:14:50 AM
I am not sure if I will be getting them quite yet.  But I think it would be possible, if you found the right decoder.

I used the dz123 in all my HO scale DCC conversions, this is probably one of the smallest ones on the market.

If I do decided to purchase them, I will definitely attempt a DCC conversion.

I'm glad that we are getting origins James, although a bit silly to overshadow Busy Bee James.  I don't think Busy Bee James will be as big of a seller as Origins James and LBSC Thomas.  I'm glad that they didn't reveal too much else. They've got their hands full with Daisy and Peter Sam.

I can't believe we're getting so close to the announcements!

I'm hoping for:
HO Scale
Stepney
Resin Ffarquhar

Narrow Gauge
Sir Handel
D.Fusit Gunpowder

Will any of these new locos be DCC Ready like the UK releases?

Thomas & Friends / Re: Stepney or Ryan?

Hey everyone first post here!

As much as I would love to see Ryan made to go along with Daisy for the 75th anniversary Stepney would make the most sense.  As he is one of the few remaining classic characters we need from the first 4 seasons.

Plus with the level of detail Bachmann has been going to recently I'm sure a Stepney model would look fantastic!
