Title: Bachmann HO #5 Wye switch
Post by: tirebiter3 on November 09, 2012, 04:53:02 PM
Is there any special wiring and/or insulated rail joiners to be installed when using the Bachmann Wye switch?

If you are DCC then no unless it is a reversing loop. If you are running DC maybe depending on your layout's design.

Jerry,
Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently operating in DCC. What I planned to do with the Wye is turn equipment around.
Thank you,
Alan

If you are planning a loop you will need an automatic reverse loop module. I used the Bachmann module with the power terminal insulated gap tracks.
Anyway you go you will need a reverse loop module even if it's not a loop.

You'll also need a reversing module if you use your wye, or any kind of turnouts for that matter, in a turning set-up. Make sure
that all three tails (legs) of the wye are long enough for the longest locomotive which will used through the wye.
