Thank you for your response. I have been calling Bachmann Parts for the past hour and get ringing phones with no answer, then they say someone will pick up and nothing happens!

Could you please tell me what the screw size is that secures the pantograph to your E33.

When will the HO ACS-64 be released?

As info, "E33" was a PC designation, not GE!  On the VGN and N&W they were class EL-C, on the NH they were EF-4. PC re-classified them E33 after the merger with the NH, and they kept that classification on CR.

The RF-16 should have 2 vertical panels of screening on the fireman's side of the engine. The Bachmann model does not have this. To simulate the screening, I used the Model Memories decals for the NH EP-5 motors. There are decals in the set for the intake screens that were located on the sides of the EP-5 carbody. They worked perfectly! I used them on the D&H model.

Harvey:

For the cross bracing on the pans, try Details Associates and K&S Metal products. They both make fine wire.
The springs are the tough part. I honestly have no idea where to look. Sorry.

They were 2-6-0's that were converted to oil for use on the wire train so as to not leave sulphur deposits on the catenary.

The only RRs I know of that had oil burning 4-4-2s was the AT&SF and MILW. The NH had some oil burning 2-6-0s.

No problem. Any more questions don't hesitate to ask. Electrics are my favorite motive power and I saw and rode many GG1s in my RR career.

HO / HO GG1 4829

To the Bach-man:

When will your HO GG1 No. 4829 be avail? The photo of the model shows it with buff gold striping. According to books on the PRR and the GG1s, that striping was gold leaf.

HO / New Run of GG1s

When will the next run of HO GG1s be avail? I'm interested in the corrected scheme with the single broad stripe, large keystone and the 4829 with the one of a kind 5 stripes tapering into one.

Thanks

PRR Fan:

The term "motor" was not relegated to just the PRR. Many engineers who ran electrics be it on the NH, PRR, GN, VGN etc. called electrics "motors." That "motor" term used only on the PRR was myth created by Al Staufer in Pennsy Power.

Rich: The NH paid $300,000.00 for the 12 EF-4s. The VGN paid $267,710 per unit when new in 1956.
Imagine the EL-2b's painted like the Jets! That would have looked sharp.
