Title: Additional/custom sounds
Post by: AndyJB on April 04, 2013, 12:51:29 PM
My question is what equipment/software do I need to add additional sounds to my decoders. Where can I find step by step instructions and what's a good source for sounds?
Any and all help appreciated thanks Andy.

The following websites are very helpfull for DCC and sound:

http://www.tonystrains.com/ (http://www.tonystrains.com/) and www.mrdccu.com/ (http://www.mrdccu.com/)

See also the Internet Model Railroad Magazine www.mrhmag.com (http://www.mrhmag.com). There are many DCC guidances for DCC in.

If you're yalking about the Tsunami decoders, you can't add or customize sounds. Other decoders you can change the sound files IE change from an EMD 567 to an Alco 244. But these are the prime mover sounds and you need their programmer and sound files to do this. Digitrax has decoders you can customize the sounds in but you need your own sound files and their PR3 to do it. Joe
