For a fair discount and great service I still recommend Caboose Hobbies in Denver.

Shopping around the various vendors will be well worth your time.
Given what you are looking for will vary in price from dealer to dealer.
the favorite spot is great. fills both requirerment.
Model Train Stuff, has been great, and usually has good prices (spectrum SD45's DCC ready for 20$). They also keep an updated inventory of whats in stock, and how many.

Also, fairly good service.
Hey Guilford Guy, where do you see Spectrum DCC engines for $20 on the Model Train Stuff site? Lowest I saw was $59.
Thanks,
Arthur
Don't overlook Standard Hobby Supply! They are not always the lowest, but they are extreemly professional. The best part is that they actually have their inventory system on line. You know before you order if they actually have the item. I verified this once by ordering a quantity turnouts for a staging yard. it came back that they were a couple of units short, did I want to continue the order and back order the remainder? Yes. Then I rechecked as if I were going to place another order, and it came back right away that the turnouts were out of stock. All of this in the same on line session. They also are great about sending e-mails as to the status of your order, (processed........shipped.........etc.)
I have ordered items from most of the other places listed here, and none have this feature.

According to my Bachmann catalogs (2007 and 2008) they don't make a model 82701. They have an 82711 DCC equipped that lists for $115.
If they earlier made an 82701 that was only DCC ready. then the 32 in stock must be at least 3 years old. So you have to spend another $20 for a decoder and you still have an older loco.

Well it is obvious that these are older stock, the new stock has been upgraded to include the DCC unit.
With a price of $19.99 certainly worth considering.
