N / Re: sd-45 electrical pickup

Soldered the wires directly to the pickups then tapped screws into the frame halves and connected the pickup wires to the screws. Still does not work properly, looks like another junker from Bachmann going into the parts box. I also have a new f-3, the motor seems to be dragging at full throttle on my dcc controller, barely pulling eight cars. Any ideas, suggestions.

N / sd-45 electrical pickup

I was wondering has anyone modified the copper contacts that touch the bottom of the frame halves? I was thinking i could solder a wire to that and tap into the bottom of the frame, any suggestions would be appreciated.

N / sd-45 coupler
December 29, 2014, 11:26:18 AM
I have a Reading sd-45 and i tried to couple it to a lifelike gp-20 with the truck mounted coupler and it keeps derailing the gp-20, i tried using a long shank coupler no change. The curves i am using are 11.25 any suggestions.

Everyone wants them, how come you wont make them? We all need them for our soundcar projects, hence thats why they are always sold out.

Williams by Bachmann / o scale decoders
September 17, 2014, 03:06:21 PM
How come nobody makes a do it yourself install decoder for o scale? Im thinking along the lines of some of the n and ho decoders but made for o scale. I think this would be a good idea if someone wanted to buy a cheap loco and install for themselves, and then just add a speaker.

Has anyone made a dummy out of one of the new f-3 b units? I want to save the original chassis so does anyone know what trucks to use? I also want to put a sound decoder in the b unit.
