Title: On30 Davenport
Post by: mrchief on June 13, 2007, 04:41:29 PM
Hey- cool site !  I'm learning a lot already....but here's one for you- somebody-anybody:
I've searched, Googled, etc., but have yet to find a review on the Bachman On30 side-rod 0-4-0 "Davenport" type.
I'm looking at these, and how reasonably priced, DCC, etc- but don't know what it will pull.  I'd like to pull my MoW train of 7 cars (mostly "shorty" types).  Grading on my coming layout will be 1.5% max.  Is this feasible ??

Dear Chief,
They're great, reliable little locos, but seven cars, even shorties, up 1.5% might be a little much...
Have fun!

The on30conspiracy on yahoo had some discussions of the Davenport.  I have one on my switching layout and it does have some trouble navigating bachmann switches, but overall I like it.
