Title: G scale Shay power replacement trucks
Post by: ketchamb@bellsouth.net on March 12, 2015, 11:18:00 AM
Hello,
Last August I purchased a set of 1:20.3 scale Shay power trucks, item no. 88999 for my 2 truck Bachmann Shay
One of the power trucks is now not picking up power from the rails. I hesitate to open up the power block, didn't know if Bachmann suggests not doing this but feel it just must be a loose or disconnected wire inside. I'm hoping you have a suggestion.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Terry

As I understand it, and personally experienced on my 2 truck, the plastic literally starts to fall apart, the springs inside overheat and collapse and start doing flaky things. If you want to separate the motor from the rails, it is much easier with the a metal replacements. Everyone seems to say replace and stop messing with the old. I'm taking their advise.

Forget what Mickey said above, since you clearly stated you already purchased the metal trucks last August.
