Post by: RickWillison on March 22, 2009, 07:21:14 PM
Hello,
I need a diagram of the underside of a bachmann remote turnout.

Also wanted to say this is a great forum with tons of great info and loads of good people.

Thanks to all

I don't have a diagram but do have some pictures.
These are N scale but I would guess the HO version is the same.
These are also both right hand.
Note the way B'mann wired each and the orientation of the pinion to the position of the rack.

It would be nice to see B'mann implement a consistent wiring program across their product lines.

The HO version is slightly different but same concept. Lay the turnout upside down on a piece of foam or towel. Remove the 6 screws holding the plastic cover. Now BE CAREFUL...observe how the linkage (gear and rack) is arranged. The parts can (and will) fall out.  As James mentioned, the small gear must be installed so the rack moves equally both ways. Draw a diagram for reassembly.  Three screws removes the solenoid.

I don't have a picture yet, but will take and send one to you if needed.
