Title: consolidation LED
Post by: medicalscout on August 19, 2009, 01:14:48 PM
What is the voltage etc. for the rear LED on the Bachmann Spectrum Consolidation?  I need to replace mine.  Thanks, Steve

Try taking the LED to a radio Shack and see if they have something the right size.   They are very cheap.   I bought several leds at the Radio Shack and found one that worked.  Unfortunately I looked for the package and I guess I threw it away, so I can't tell you the RS stock number. Being low voltage devices they burn up if too much voltage is applied.  Check to make sure you did not accidentally remove the resistor (if you have changed the wiring in any way)

When you remove the tender shell you will see the red wire (usually) which goes to the light.  Trace it back to the resistor where it is screwed to the tender floor.  If this resistor is fautly in any way you will burn up the new led.

Hope this will help in some small way.

Forgot to mention that LED's are polarity sensitive, so be sure you install it the same way as the original.
