I have a Bachmann SD70ACE and ES44AC and can they be run on 18 degree curves? I am in rehab center after injuring my leg and I picked a SD70 ACE and a ES44AC and have an oval of 18 degree track and I want to try out because I don't know I will be able to go home and try them on my layout.
Dear Q-51,
22" is the preferred minimum radius.
Get well soon!

Try yours -- some of the SD70ACe and the GE ES44AC locomotive with DCC Sound Value can negotiate 18 inch radius curve at slow speed with no load.
The first production run of both locomotives have non-operating ditch lights. The second production run (different road names from first production run) feature operating ditch lights.

The ES44AC I have runs fine on 18 radius pulling a short train of about 14 cars, even it would look better on larger radius curves.
