HO / Re: bachmann turnouts
February 19, 2011, 01:08:14 PM
I had previously tried EZ, and then gave up for the same reasons given. The problem that I saw, and that has been discussed in other forums, is that the movable rails are way too wobbly, the engine hits them, they wobble out of line, the truck then slams into the solid rail and you are cooked.
I just got back into EZ, hoping this was a fixed deal by now. So far, all of the standard turnouts - yeah - I know- yucky full 18" r diverge - all seem to be working fine.
Also - much gratitude given for the newer(whenever that was) added line of smaller pieces of track. This has virtually eliminated all problems of previously needing to cut your own filler track.

HO / EZ Track #4 Switch - help with specs-diverging angle
February 19, 2011, 01:01:57 PM
Hello,

I am looking for information for the new #4 switches - RR-Track has yet to incorporate them into their software, so no help there. I just bought 2, and there is no info on or in the package about this muchly needed information.
What is the turnout degree angle?
I do hope that there exists a curved piece in EZ track world that will bring the diverge route back to parallel again. (Atlas has never ever come up with a piece of curve to match up with their #4 switch which is 12.5 degrees)
Thanks - Tim

HO / Re: 18" radius passenger cars
February 19, 2011, 12:54:36 PM
Funny-I really like the shorty psgr cars, but refused to pay ConCor's crazy price of $120 for 2. Walthers used to sell a nice full train set with shorty cars, but they stopped it. Anyway I just won an old 'new' set of 6 PRR Roundhouse Harriman Coaches on EBAY, all are short length - the funny part is that they had put detail in having setps at each corner of the car that drop down, but this limits the truck-mounted coupler so much that the car will choke on 18"r curves! I had to file off the innermost upper step on each corner to allow additional swing of the trucks. Since its the upper step, its kinda hidden by the sideframe of the coach anyway.
Who would have guessed a shorty car that would run well on 18"r - wierd.

HO / DCC Reverse Loop with HO EZ track
October 22, 2008, 11:14:57 PM
Hello,

Somewhat new to DCC and using EZ track. I am confused about having a reverse loop track, and what to use. Is this what the EZ Track Auto Reverse track is for, or must one buy one of the other modular thingies to satisfy the reversal.

Thanks

Tim
