On your number keypad on the right side of the keyboard, use :

8- increase power
2 decrease power
* put into forward gear
/   put into   reverse
5  idle
3 apply brakes
9 release brakes
6 brake lap
H horn
L lights

Engine must be at idle to put into gear.  Using numbers at top of your letter section of your keyboard, use 1 for cab view, 2 for outside view, 3 for outside view 4 roaming view.

Maybe you can return it to Target. Also you might find the answer on Google. Finally, maybe you don't have to register it to use it.

Does anyone know how to use Lap Brakes? I do not fully understand what it is.

Where can I get Trainz 2006? If I go to online retail, they don't carry it anymore. If I go to someplace like Amazon or EBay, I might end up (as I've found out) getting a bad copy (even though they claim it's new software, it often is used and without the proper copyright codes).

So I had a bad experience trying to get a copy of MSTS, as you can only get it as a used product now like through Amazon, and the copy they sent me did not work. So I am stuck having to go to Trainz 2009 that I can buy new through Compusa. Do you think Trainz 2009 will run ok on Windows XP on a three year old DELL?

In a modern air brake system, does each car (passenger or freight) have its own pressurized air reserve? Or is there one large pressure reserve on the engines that is used for all the cars? Also, does the air pressure applied RELEASE the brake or APPLY the brake? For example, I think a truck has its parking brake applied with springs and then the air pressure actually RELEASES the brake. Thanks.

Is the foundation of your track good and strong? I have noticed that when my track has play in it that I'm left with lots of problems. The track needs to be very well supported so it is sturdy and cannot move around. When I lay track out on the carpet I secure it with pieces of cardboard butted up against the track and then weights placed on the pieces of cardboard, essentially securing the track in its place.

Last night I noticed that at least with the 9.25 inch passenger cars that when they are on my 18" radii turns the ends of the cars get significantly out of alignment, making me wonder if body mounted couplers will work on them. I guess that is why they were originally designed with truck mounted couplers. Thanks for you assistance again. This forum has been a terrific source of information for me.

Hello again. I have a lot of Tyco Locos and rolling stock from the 1970's. The couplers do not work very well (springs are weak) and I'd like to convert them all to something better, or to something that is now commonly used in say, Bachmann or Athern type locos and cars. Is this going to be difficult? Where can I go to buy the new couplers? Mostly my current couplers are attached directly to the trucks. Thanks.

Thanks again for all the responses. Would you say that a GG1 might give me more trouble on an 18" dia turn than say an F9 or GP20? I love the look of the GG1 but I hate when locos cause trouble and I just want something that runs well also.
