Large / Blind drivers on C-19
August 24, 2012, 06:10:35 PM
If one wanted to have flanged drivers on all 8 wheels, does or will Bachmann sell the extra 4 wheels or 2 axles to drop in, replacing the blind drivers, and what will the cost be ?
My guess is, that there are two sets of blind drivers so it can be run on smaller than 20 foot dia. track without binding ?
And just an observation ........about your video....was the stack on the Bumble Bee paint job not mounted flush on the boiler base, it looks to be leaning back towards the cab @ the 2:08 minute mark of the video. Did anyone else notice that ??????? I usually don't notice things like that, but Backmann has made me into a rivit counter, picky toward detail. You made the monster in me for narrow gauge detail, as you are so good in  detailing you engines and rolling stock.

Large / C-19 VS K27
August 22, 2012, 09:00:06 PM
Does the C -19, new release from Bachmann, have the same mother board and chuff censers as the K 27.
I am thinking of purchasing one and converting to batter power.
If the chuff censers are the same, I will have to make another circuit board for the optics.
Thanks in advance

Large / Closing
January 05, 2011, 06:01:41 PM
Say it's not so, I buy a lot of my railway stuff from Ridgeroad Station and I just heard its closing in a few months. We have lost 2 hobby stores in southern Ontario this year alone.
It's true that hobbies are the first to go when times get hard.
That would be my guess why new engines are far and few between.

Large / Battery Control for K-27
November 14, 2010, 04:21:24 PM
Has anyone tried to install the Aristocraft Revolution into a K-27 ?
I am told you take out the dummy board, place the Aristocraft decoder in its place, switch the control sliders for battery power, add batteries, and sound system and then program the decoder and Bob's your uncle, your K-27 is running. In less than 1 hour.
Is this about right. does anyone have thoughts on this.
I am also told that the decoder is made to drop into the K-27 mother board with no problems.
Thanks in advance for all answers.

Large / K-27 Tenders
June 21, 2010, 08:50:28 PM
Anyone have or know where I can get a #453 tender shell. Bachmann has none of these in stock. They have lots of the other road numbers. Just not the one I want.
Thanks in advance.......Doug

Large / Steam chuff
June 19, 2010, 02:14:40 PM
Just added a reed switch and two magnits to the tender wheels of the 1st of (2) K-27's. It sounds amazing and it is almost 1/4 ered perfectly to the drivers. It GREAT. Wait until I double head them with the echo in my back yard. It's to much.

Large / Drop in decoders and boards.
June 11, 2010, 07:17:07 PM
Air Wire by CVP Products for the Bachmann K-27.
They make drop ins for the SD 70 Mac, GP 7/9, F3A &F3B and the GP38-2. and at reasonable prices I think. Check them out at www.cvpusa.com
Which leads me to this, which I just found out today from CVP. They are in the process of making a drop in which works with the the Air Wire Decoder, which allows the Phoenix Sound System or sound system of your choice and battery power of your choice to hookups to there board. That sounds like an easy fix for the remote control for the K-27 and if the boards are the same for the 2-6-6-2 Logging Engine and the Forney, they have a gold mine on there hands for Bachmann. I personally do not know if the main boards are the same.
As to when it would be released, I couldn't get them to say when. Because if it's not ready by an announced release date, some people get upset and then bug them. And then there's always the people adding there 2 cents worth which usually make us all fell worse. Which doesn't help the product to be released any faster as the Bach Man and coworkers can relate to. Example... What's the next big steam engine to be released ?  It's still called anticipation, which I hate and I still think, sucks big time, but. So when it's out, it's out. As for me, Yesterday wouldn't have been soon enough.
So I hope this gives you something to look forward to, like me.
I haven't tried other decoders products in Bachmann products and I am sure they all work great too, but Air Wire is what I like, for now. I didn't mention other Remote Control Companies, because I would forget some one, this way I forget no one, and slit no one.. Just thinking out loud with my outside voice.

Large / Detailing Locomotives and Rolling Stock
May 20, 2010, 08:09:25 PM
I still can't figure out why garden railroaders go to so much detail on there scenery and land scapping and forget about there motive power and rolling stock. For me this is the most enjoyable part of the hobby next to running trains, especially Stream. I model the D&RGW and The Grand Trunk Western. It's great fun!

Large / Battery power controllers
May 01, 2010, 05:31:16 PM
I have successfully installed the Air Wire System into a Bachmann K-27......works great. I have heard so many good things about the Aristo-craft Revolution, I am thinking for trying an install of the revolution into a Bachmann K-27. Along with Phoenix Sound System
Has anyone done this yet to a K-27?
If so what, did you do to install it?
Anything extra needed to install this system?
Any tips on installation?
Any wiring Diagrams you would care to share?
Any and all feed back would be great fully received
Thanks in advance for all responds.

Large / WARNING Parts falling off side rod...K-27
March 26, 2010, 11:23:20 PM
Can't get a picture on this site to show you where the pin slips out of the lower part of the combination lever. I just noticed it on my K-27 before it came completely out. If you lose it on your railroad, you will have lost it for good. I would show you on a picture I have, but I cant get the New Topic browser to let me add it. Maybe someone can tell me step by step how to add one picture. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Large / Chuff Sencers K-27
March 06, 2010, 10:37:52 AM
This my be old hat to some of you, but I haven't read any way how to make this work.
Has Bachmann found a solution to the optical chuff sencers problem in the K-27 yet ?
I would like to have proper chuff quartering......barring that the only way I can think of is to cut the wires at the steam chests, and add the trigger magnet from Phoenix Sound to them, mounting them ( triggers ) onto the bottom of the firer box. then placing smaller magnets to the 4th drive axle in the proper 1/4 erring spots.
Any sud jestions on this topic, and hoping to he from Mr Bachmann on this.....Please !!!!!

Large / K-27 Pulling power
March 01, 2010, 08:58:54 PM
How many AMS cars, plus a Bachmann caboose should a K-27 be able to pull on a level surface at a realistic speed without stalling ? .
And should using Battery power make any difference except for running time.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Large / New Locomotives

To the Bachmann Man:
Bachmann has done the best production model of the K-27 and the long caboose ever. That just a fact, plain and simple.
But will Bachmann ever release a K28, K-36, or a K-37 in the near future, or is it planned in a few years down the line.
I know you have been asked this many, many times before, and probably you are tired of hearing this, but inquisitive minds would like to know. Any thoughts you can share with us.... Me about this topic.
I promise , I won't tell any one, It will stay just between us........Ya right, I lied. Sorry!.........Hope you don't think any less of me.

Large / K-27 Books and Movies
January 06, 2010, 06:46:07 PM
Just received my copy of THE MUDHENS by Dennis O' BERRY. So now I can see what type of weathering to do, light, medium, or heavy, or to keep it preteen. What a great book.
Now what to do to my Bachmann K-27 ?????????????????????? Chocks or paint. I have never weathered a locomotive before.
Like all railroads, I"ve seen different tenders on the 453 and even a snow plow. What year do I do ?. Decisions, decisions. Less than 5 months to get it ready for the May running season.
By the way, any one know of a good web site to see the 453 in action and in colour ?
Thanks in advance

Large / Caboose colours, D&RGW
December 15, 2009, 05:34:51 AM
OK then ,
Which movie was the shot D&RGW caboose in for which it was painted Green, #0579, around July 4, 1951 at Rockwood, Colorado. It's now with the C&TS. This is not a test. I really don't know.
It also has the toilet seat logo, in a box at a 45 degree angle.
What colours have the cabooses been painted in ??????? , and why.
Thanks.
