This is a split frame loco so you will want to isolate the brushes first before doing anything else. Then be sure you do not have any shorts with the frame or anywhere else with your multimeter. Then continue the install like any ordinary loco. A DZ125 would be a good choice.

All,

Regarding Bachmann can motors I noticed that there is an engraved "V" on one side of the motor.  I'm sure it's to guide me in replacing it into the frame but I didn't notice it until it was time to replace the motor.  Can anyone inform me as to which way this is to be installed?

Thanks,
