Hello Joe.

I make the RCS PnP-3BK R/C system for the K-27.

You can read all about it here: http://www.rcs-rc.com/?page=on_board_battery/rcs/pnp.html (http://www.rcs-rc.com/?page=on_board_battery/rcs/pnp.html)

There are links here: http://www.rcs-rc.com/?page=how_tos/index.html (http://www.rcs-rc.com/?page=how_tos/index.html) on various methods of installation.

This system is plug in compatible with Phoenix P5 for one sound or the P5 + P5T for six sound triggers.

Thanks Tony, I'm printing the details off to read up tonight, I'll get in touch with you.

Just yesterday I was blowing the roof off my office at work trialling the Pheonix sounds demos on their web site. I think I am hooked on the Pheonix. My neighbours are going to love me!!

QSI makes one just for the K-27 that can run on DC or DCC.

The QSI can also be used with a plug in receiver that works with the Airwire R/C.
The problem for Joe will be they are (as I understand the rules) not  legal to use in Australia.

Joe,

I recently went through the same scenario for my track power K-27.  After a little research and participation in a couple of large scale forums. I settled on Phoenix Sound. None of the providers have an easy answer for track power

However since you have power, and DCC considerations as well as sound, jump on Large Scale Central (http://www.largescalecentral.com/index.php ) and navigate your way to the Power and Sound forum.  Several participants have great knowedge and some experience with your K-27 situation. One of them is a provider.

Well, battery power, r/c, integration with a phoenix, legal in australia... you cannot do better with these requirements than Tony's setup. Don't know what provider is on LSC, but you will find Tony and his dealers on most forums... but since you are in Australia, what could be more convenient?

Tony's PNP board is one of the 3 that will plug in to the K, and is the only one that is not DCC. i.e. tailored to R/C.

Regards, Greg

I've done the soundjob artwork, using more as 30 genuine soundsamples of the K-27 463, for the hardware plattform MX 690 from Zimo. The plattform is consequently designed for DCC, but can also cofigured to operate with DC, loosing some feathures.
The sound art work is free.
Read here on anther tread for more informations http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/index.php/topic,6586.msg55827.html#msg55827
The Zimo plattform can be operatet with added powercaps. No charging time is needing and the capacitors has spare power enough to run the engine on dirty tracks without undesired stopps.
