Friends,
Did we get any announcement from the NMRA Convention show? 1:20 scale or Annie repaints? Still looking for the Flying Grande factory painted Annie!

Rio Grande Southern logo cars would be nice to go with the C-19 & caboose.

Howard,
The new pilot is on an arm that fastens behind the pilot truck allowing it to swing down as well as pivot. It is better than the one secured by the single screw under the smokebox. I think it was developed by Barry of Barry's Big Train and it works well. I do not know if it is available from Bachmann or not.

punkin & Bill,
I fully agree with Bill. I use both companies passenger cars. Bachmann has some very good qualities, such as metal handrails & wheels (on the newer versions), and included lights. The Bachmann Annie is, in my opinion, the best locomotive on the market for the price.

Bachmann,
And D&RGW #168 is getting restored to operating condition right now. That would make a nice 1:20 scale model.

Punkin,
That is the 3 letter German manufacturer that only has letters in their name. Bachmann does not like you naming other manufacturers on their site, and I full understand. But these cars are very compatible with Bachmann products. Many garden railroaders run them together, even in the same train. Go to http://ggrs.info/GGRS/Member_Layouts/Pages/Ted_Yarbourgh_Garden_Railroad_Oct._2011.html and you can see photos of the yellow passenger cars by the German company and a caboose by Bachmann (the red D&RG one).

Punkin,
L**  yellow D&RGW passenger cars are an almost exact color match to the Bachmann Bumble-Bee locomotive. Just in case you are interested. They are also same basic scale. I run both the Bachmann & the L** cars with my Annies and they look great.

Large / Re: Understanding C19 vs Connie

Maybe Bachmann could re-introduce the Connie with the better running of the C-19. Paint scheme like the D&RGW C-21 would be an excellent addition, too. I know several that would buy that loco very quickly!

Large / New Product Request
January 04, 2015, 08:13:59 AM
Mr. Bachmann,
You have produced soon VERY fine locos in 1:20 scale lettered for the D&RGW & RGS. Yet, there is very little rolling stock available (boxcar, flatcar, hopper car & caboose in D&RGW, caboose in RGS). The lowside gondola would be a good candidate for both lines, and the others in RGS would be good, too. Passenger cars, particularly parlor car, baggage, and RPO (to match size, color, & road name of the AMS plastic cars) wold be very popular with narrow gauge D&RGW and RGS modelers. Releasing the 'Annie' in the same paint schemes as the C-19 D&RGW locos would also be FANTASTIC! hope these make an appearance in the 2015 lineup of new products released at the NMRA show. Thanks!

Large / Re: Rio Grande Southern # 20 4-6-0 Annie request
December 06, 2014, 07:06:43 AM
Mr. Bachmann,
Thank you! It has been the same Rio Grande Southern paint (loco #25) since Bachmann started the large scale line. There have NEVER been the Rio Grande paint schemes applied to the 4-6-0 (except the bumble-bee and wood burner). These would prove popular.

...Loco 168, a Rio Grande 4-6-0 narrow gauge locomotive, is being considered for restoration as well, so the above request should prove popular with large scale modelers.
how about it Mr. Bachmann?

Large / Rio Grande Southern # 20 4-6-0 Annie request
December 05, 2014, 07:23:17 AM
Mr. Bachmann,
The Colorado Railroad Museum is restoring RGS 4-6-0 to operating conditions. It would be great to have a FACTORY PAINTED #20 in the 'Annie' line. Using the bumble bee loco as a starting point (wood cab & fluted domes) and repaint black w/silver or graphite smokebox. This would be a good companion with the current RGS #25 produced by Bachmann. This would only require some repaint and should be a good seller with the real #20 coming back into service.
While I am at it, please bring out identical paint (lettering schemes) in the 'Annie' as in the C-19 Rio Grande. This would be a good match for the 1:20 scale locos (yes, I know the 'Annie' is 1:22).
I hope to see these in 2015!
Happy Rails To You,
Ted

Large / Re: anything new really new?
December 01, 2014, 02:15:19 PM
Friends,
It is Christmas time, so here is my wish list (or letter to the Bachmann  Santa). I would love to see business or observation car. baggage car, and RPO to match (size, paint scheme/color, and road name) the AMS coach & combine. Rio Grande paint schemes on the Annie (just like the C-19's paint/lettering scheme) would also be FANTASTIC
Happy Rails To You
Ted.
