Herr Doktor,
You can't get away with that.  Please provide details for the use of rare earth magnets.
Thanks.

Yes Jon,
I noticed the green paint.

Thanks for the info, Len.

Thanks, Jonathon.
Certainly, the pots are not efficient, but they do work and are cheap.  I have had Bach locos for many years and the smoke units do not work consistently from loco to loco.
I'll keep fooling with it, as a learning experience.
Best regards.

HO / Wiring Bachmann Smoke Pots in Other Locos
May 18, 2015, 06:23:15 PM
Hello Folks,
During a Bachmann sale, I decided to buy some of their smoke pots.  I knew that the opposite 'horns' were press fit into Bach.'s spilt weight.  So, being an expert lamp wirier, I was ready to go.  Well, it isn't going well.
I pulled a wire here, and another there, and attached one to each post.  Nothing happened.
When I apply leads from a 12volt bulb, the bulb lights.
This is in a Riv Big Boy.  Help.

I am hoping for a specific restored Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 numbered 261. If it would be a standard line engine, oh well, make it a sound value on board engine with the heavy steam sounds and the Frisco 1522 whistle. If it would be a spectrum line steamer, please Bachmann, make it with a sound module that has sounds recorded from the real thing since it is still around and hopefully done with its overhaul soon. For western engines, I am hoping for something like the Grand Canyon Railway 4960 and Grand Canyon Railway 28... or the Sierra Railway #3.

Hello Milw 261,
I have a nice S2a, #207, closed vestibule, 4-8-4, just waiting for you. :)
