General Discussion / EZ-Track Usage
June 15, 2012, 02:07:15 PM
I want to expand my layout from one 4x8 sheet to two 4x8 sheets.  I was thinking of hanging the second from the first with a piano hinge so that I could bring the two together and then drop supporting legs into place that would make it one larger layout.  Could I use EZ-track at the point of connection to make the track transition that would allow a train to go from one sheet to the other?  If carefully placed, when I bring the second sheet up to the level of the first, would the EZ-Track point of joining easily connect?

If the problem is that the EZ-Track cannot connect from an angle, then should I bring the two sheets together by sliding one to the other like you do an extra leaf you put into a dining room table for expansion?

Finally, if one of these two ideas is feasible, can I connect regular track to EZ-Track and only use the EZ-Track for the points of connection?

You know it is possible with a small gear puller to remove the good gear that you have and place it on the other shaft.

Philly,

I am still interested in the old stuff and would be willing to arm wrestle you over a price for a lot of the train items you have been mentioning.

General Discussion / Older Bachmann GE U36B Diesel
February 15, 2012, 08:59:57 PM
I have one of these older engines and lack the bottom part of the front truck.  It is part number 3201-2.  I asked Bachmann if they used the same type of truck on other engines, since this one is no longer being supported.  I received no response from them.  Does anyone in the forum know if the same truck was used on other engines back then such that they may be available but under some other part number?

General Discussion / Bachmann HO GE U36B engine
February 04, 2012, 09:57:54 PM
I have the chassis for the 1970 version of the Bachmann GE U36B engine.  It's assembly chart is Item Number 41-0640.  I have purchased a shell for the chassis.  I need the front truck outer frame which is part number 3201-2.  I also need the 2021 horn-hook coupler and 1997 traction rings for the rear drive wheels.  I suppose that I will find out that these parts are no longer available.  My hope is that the same front truck outer frame was used on other models and is still available under some other part number?

Any help?  Any ideas?
