HO / Walther's HO turntable
February 27, 2008, 06:22:01 PM
Hi,
Will someone give me the width and height of the Walther's HO turntable (either 130' or 90') ARCH?  I want to know how much if any I need to modify for On30.  I know that the guard rails will have to be moved out.

Thanx,   bob

Hi,

Try the E-Bay store: "everydaygoodz" for people.   PAINTED 1:50 @ less than 10 cents each----- 36mm tall (1.42").   Most other scales available.
Shipping from Hong Kong was about $12.00 for 500 people.

Large / 3 rail
December 18, 2007, 11:13:24 AM
Hi,
My brother-in-law was given a older 'K-Line' set (O-27).  It is missing track.  The engine has a center electrical pickup.  So, it is 3 rail.  Are all three rail track the same--Lionel, O-27, American Flyer, Mikes,?  Or do we need to look for a certain type or brand of track??  He wants to buy used.

November 24, 2007, 07:09:49 PM
Hi,
Has anyone tried the Clever Models buildings??  Are they background only?  How do they compare to Paper Creek?  Or, is construction type different?

Tom,    Thanx for the response.  Is the arch large enough?  I have 2 K-27s and 2 K-28s  (and of course all the Bachmann engines).

Your modifications are what I figured on; I was hoping there wasn't anything more drastic.

Thanx again,   bob

Hi,

Has anyone taken a Walthers (933-2829) HO turntable (130') and modified it for On30?

It has an 18" deck, and is 2 3/8" from fence to fence.  So, maybe it just needs a larger control shack and raised arch?  Walthers has it on sale for $240 (builtup), so your dealer should be about $50 less than before.

Thanx,   bob

On30 / Quanity of freight cars
July 12, 2007, 04:53:51 PM
Hi,
Prototypically, and on NON mountainous territory what quanity of cars  would the following engines pull?  Normal average range (if possible)

(The type that Bachmann models On30)

Porter          Example:  2 to 3
2-6-0                         6 to 10    etc
2-8-0
Forney

(others)
Mudhen 2-8-2
K-28
K-36

I did not want my modelling to be out of a normal range.

Thanx,  bob
