Wow.  That's quite a list.  With the DCC Sound-Equipped Baldwin 2-8-0 Consolidation and 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler going away, what new dcc and sound small steam will be available out there?

Or will we see a Spectrum 2-6-0 Mogul appear?

You are all right.  There seems to me a big push not just here on the Bachmann site, but other sites too.  I have to imagine that they would indeed sell well.  I know I'd love one!

HO / DCC for a gandy dancer, HELP
February 18, 2010, 09:01:01 AM
I'm in the midst of my first kitbash and have hit a stumbling block.  This bash includes receiving motive power from a cut up Bachmann Gandy Dancer.  I'm running NCE dcc at home and thus do not have the ability to run a dc only engine.  How the heck can I wire this thing up with a decoder?  It will be completely hidden so when done the decoder and wiring will be hidden.   Right now I'm completely lost ( left and right pickups, engine wiring, etc ).

Curved side to side?  If so try searching on eBay.  I recall not too long ago seeing a trestle curved bridge.  It was handmade, and not cheap.  Might suit you nicely.

I second the above except for one thing.  Get the sound.  It's fantastic.  I don't know why someone would recommend not getting a sound version.  After all it's so much easier to turn the sound off, than to go and have to add the sound after the fact!

Anything non-articulated seems to be in demand.  I think Spectrum has the right idea with the 4-4-0 and 4-6-0.  How about a nice Spectrum 2-6-0 Mogul?  But I would certainly buy a Mastadon if one was made.  Ok, 'nuff said.

Bigger is ALWAYS better.  18" is really a minimum on any layout.

I buy nothing on ebay for more than 50% off what I can get it from another dealer.  Too many bad sellers.  But a $10 caboose sounds like a pretty good deal.  Buyer Beware.

Please, please buy the Tsunami.  If not, there is a very good chance you will be right back here commenting on the MRC's lack of quality.  Take it from one that learned the HARD way.
