The years nearly over, what future large scale products would you like to see?
My Wish List:
Rolling Stock:
1:20.3 - logging disconnects - (I know other manufactures make these but if Bachmann could make a cheapish multi pack it would go down well)
1:20.3 Pulpwood Car - Bachmann already make these in ON30 and basically is a just a flat car with load.
Any other Logging/industrial related items. The log skidder was an awesome release!
Locomotives:
USATC S100 Class/SR USA Class 0-6-0T
How about an Annie with the Flying Frande herald (same colors as the Rio Grande Southern loco). Some new road numbers on the current rolling stock would be nice. Maybe, even a set of green D&RGW passenger cars.
Happy Rails To You,
Ted
I have some suggestions for additions for the Thomas large scale range: A closed goods wagon and a "Guards van" both with removable roof (more "play value" than the tank wagons), Toby & Henrietta (A wish from my 14 y.o. daughter!) I must admit that even I have become "addicted" to these excellent Thomas models.
i'll be redundant and request an EBT 2-6-2. i realize the wheel arrangement was not all that common, but the engine size would be a great companion to Connie...(perhaps we could call it Peter or Paul) ... but the Maine narrow gauge railroad ran some 2-6-2's and i think there were some loggers as well.
Enough wheels on the critter to allow good pick up from the track and the size is good for some longer trains....or protypically short one.
....and of course there is the parentage...the precursor to the wonderful EBT 2-8-2's.
I'll second the EBT #11, if only to keep me from having to build one myself. Of course, now that I'm starting my own C-19, you just know they'll do that instead. ;) Not that I'll remotely argue--I think a C-19 or similar inside-frame 2-8-0 would be very well received. They were used on narrow gauge lines all across the country.
Later,
K
i would like to see more flying rio grande paint schemes on all cars and engines and a porter similair to the one availeble in On30. ill also take any rio grande C style consolidation or a small T-boiler shay.
Redue the hystler! :o
Ted mentioned road numbers. When I did that back a while I caught blazes.
Still think it's good idea. Heck, I bought 3 accucrafts (with differnt numbers) but just ! Bachman!!
i would buy more rio grande cars if they had it in different roadnumbers
More road numbers, and some new paint schemes on the 1:22.5 freight cars.
I still want a Spectrum C-16 in 1:20.3. An early woodburner for the D&RG would do nicely
I'd like to see some Strasburg Rail Road lettered big hauler product. Could be a set, could be an Annie 2.
how about a logging caboose (likr Swayne and West Side)---I know how to get Bachmann to do it--build my Hartford kit! gj
Personally,
A AH&D ditcher or crane (or interchable parts) would fit the logging theme as well as a host of other narrow guage and even some standard guage (though at 1:20.3 it would oversize for standard gauge).
After seeing the magnificent RGS/D&RG caboose, I still cannot help but wonder about the Pacific Coast Ry caboose in 1:20.3, beautiful genericly looking side door job that still exists.
A redo of the Heisler might be interesting and possibly as a three truck model.
Another run of the 2-6-6-2T as a 2-6-6-2 with tender especially a Weyerhauser or Rayonir style tank tender.
Crane would be nice!
OK, Bachmann, several have requested more Rio Grande stuff in 1;22 scale. How about it! Green passenger cars and Flying herald on loco? 2012 COULD be a great year!!!! ;D
Ted, would it have a paint scheme similar to their On30 2-6-0 with the green boiler?
Mark,
The smaller version's paint is nice. I was wanting the more popular Flying Grande herald. Just like the Rio Grande Southern 4-6-0, but with the Flying Grande herald (since most of the Bachmann rolling stock has the same herald). I sure would like to see some new road numbers and some GREEN D&RGW passenger cars.
Happy Rails To You,
Ted
How about a Connie with a metal gearbox, like the Annie now has?
How about the Annie with an SP-style Whaleback tender--Couthern Pacific, and Nevada-California-Oregon.
SP #s 8 or 9 withy Stephenson valve gear, #18 with Walschaerts. gj Also, Oacific Coast Railway had whaleback tenders.
Guess my tastes toward little industrial diesels are a minority versus the steamers listed so far: I'd like a 1/24 scale Plymouth WDT like the HO and N models - which are labeled MDT but M was 4 wheel, 6 wheelers were W.
One fantasy is for the Plymouth CR-8XT on page 140 of book Critters, Dinkys & Centercabs by Jay Reed.
Ventilated boxcars (like the ones available in On30). I have a lot of watermellons that I need to ship! :D
Jerry
I would kinda like to see a 70 tonner myself.....Later all.....S.B.
Hey, those are both great ideas.

70 tonner yeah!!!!! 8) 8)
D&RG C-19 #315, a Fine smaller 2-8-0 that is currently in running condition.
Another request for Rio Grande! I sure hope Bachmann is listening. OK, when MIGHT we fined out any NEW FOR 20!@ Large scale offerings (sure hope there are green passenger cars in 1:22.5 and some nice repaints of the Annie, with Flying Grande herald and possibly a second with the green boiler and Scenic Line herald). ;D
Happy Rails To You,
Ted
The J&S passenger cars in a green livery would be a great addition to the yellow ones. I would buy them.
An annie with a flying herald too, or with a green boiler (Alamosa livery) and toilet seat herald §
How about an undecorated annie with a wooden style cab (such as n°178 bumble bee), and rounded domes, or an RGS 20 with this style cab ?
AMEN Corpet! Give us some more Rio Grande, Mr. Bach-Man!
I would also vote for a C-19 type inside frame 2-8-0, but I think that a modern mogul, similar to the On30 offering, would be a big hit.
A 1:20 scale mogul might be small enough to use with 1:22 also! Good idea! :)
I just hope they all come with plug and play.
Regards,Ron
A decently priced turntable.....
MAKE MY DAY! How about a 1.20.3 Rio grande "SILVER VISTA" ?? I'm still waiting and I bet the Rio fans are too. Your "k" was, and this may be the next star of the rails?

Hear Hear ! !! !!
Better still a simple replacement chassis
with metal gears for the Connie so that those of us with stripped gear Connies can get them working again.
You see, I still think that the Connie is the best model that Bachmann has produced.
The Northwest Short line gear replacement for your Connie is a cheap fix at about $12 bucks, and so far have proven to be very durable with a much thicker web. The thin web on the original gear is what is breaking on the Connies. It is an easy fix. A whole new chassis with metal gears would almost as expensive as a whole new loco!!
I too, would love to have a "Silver Vista" along with a good sized turntable that can handle the K's
As for the Connie gear problem, get a BBT drive and forget about any problems.
Rick ;D ;D

Ummmmmmmmmm.....what's one of those, Rick ?
...BBT, Barry's Big Trains....custom aftermarket, near indestructible replacement drive setup for the 4-6-0 he even makes one to convert to a 2-8-0... http://www.barrysbigtrains.com/ Hope this helps....later all....S.B.
Brilliant, thanks :) :) :)
If Bacchy is reading this, a covered grain hopper ( in 1:20.3) would be nice ?
Dear All,
".....a covered grain hopper ( in 1:20.3)"
Not sure putting up a link to different forum is kosher here...
So... use your favorite search engine on the term ' covered grain hopper "narrow gauge" '
If you see hminky's answer, you've found the thread I'm thinking of.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Joe Satnik
