Title: GE 70 ton locos with DCC
Post by: Robert H on May 23, 2016, 09:26:04 PM
I have recently obtained two GE 70 tonners. They have "DCC on board" printed on the fuel tank but will only run in DC mode. How do I enable the DCC mode?  I am keen to get these sweet little locos up and running. ???

What DCC system are you using?

Reset the decoder, CV 8 with 8. Then cycle power to the decoder by turning power to the track off and back on.

Thanks for info.

They are now both running on address 3. However now I cannot change any of the CVs or the addresses on either loco. I use a Digitrax Zephyr and a DT402D controller and both Page and Ops Mode programming.

A 1000 Ohm, ΒΌ Watt resistor across the programming track is required for CV read and programming  a non-sound Bachmann (Lenz based) decoder used with a Digitrax Zephyr(DCS50) or Zephyr Xtra(DCS51).

Remove resistor after programming.

This is covered in the Digitrax Tech Support Depot.
