I have noticed that the Cattle Wagon is absent from the Bachmann catalogue - Does this mean it is discontinued?

I believe it has, but I think you should be able to find some for sale on the internet.

Another option is Troublesome Truck #3. If you don't like the face, they pop off fairly easily. Then you can paint it dark red or whatever suits you.

Can troublesome trucks face be removed without damaging the paint underneath? I've been thinking about getting an ordinary brown cattle wagon though I'd prefer a green one if it didn't have a face on it :)

Yes, but in my experience, it is a light tac that leaves little or no residue. Easily concealed by a little bit of weathering.
