Large / Bachmann Street car, minimum track radius
December 03, 2015, 12:26:22 AM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

What is the minimum track radius that the street car can run on? Thinking of building a tabe top layout with very tight radius curves.

Large / Annie loco, latest version box number?
May 09, 2015, 03:04:41 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

I have been informed that the Annie loco now has brass gears and a new front pilot truck.

How does the consumer know if they are purchasing the latest version with the brass gears?

Is there a different part number on the end of the box to show that the loco has brass gears?

Thank you,
Norman

Large / Spectrum 4-4-0 actual true minimum radius
January 19, 2015, 05:26:11 PM
Hi Guys:

What is the actually real world minimum track radius for the 4-4-0 to run on?

Will the 4-4-0 run OK on three foot radius ( six foot diameter track ) ?

Has anyone modified the front truck to reduce the minimum radius ? How did you modify  the front truck?

Thanks!

Large / Bachmann Indy upgrade suggestion
September 07, 2014, 09:05:37 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Here is a Allen Models Fitchburg Northern model on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUFJPgSe0xY

The Bachmann Indy could model an actual prototype by:

- changing the dome arrangement on the boiler ( bell, one sand dome, steam dome )
- smaller diameter drivers ( already existing Bachmann components )
- larger steam cylinder and steam chest ( already existing Bachmann component from the Little Hauler )

Hopefully to be retailed at the same market pricing as the current Indy model.

This would make a nice 2-6-0 logging Mogul for the 1:22.5 customer which can also be marketed as 1:20.3 by mounting the 1:20.3 headlamp. At least the 1:22.5 customer could purchase this model and simply replace the headlamp with a 1:22.5 sized headlamp.

Hoping that those in charge will take up my suggestion to introduce a new product model at a very minimal new mold cost,

Norman

Large / Little Haulers loco request 2-4-4T
April 01, 2014, 05:59:17 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

I would like to submit a Little Haulers loco request for a model based on the Baldwin 2-4-4T loco now presently running at Disneyland numbered as loco #5.

You presently have the components with the 0-4-0 loco with tender Little Hauler although the boiler is oversized in diameter.

If you rerun the Little Hauler 0-4-0 loco can you add cross heads, cross head guides, piston rod and move the smokestack forward and centered above the steam cylinders ?

Thank you,

Norman

Large / NMRA pdf announcement will not load
July 20, 2013, 09:17:43 PM
Hi Mr. Bachmann:

1)
The NMRA pdf annoucement front page appears only momentarily and then disappears followed by an error message.

Can you fix this?

2)
Bachmann's entry into 1:29 is a great announcement.

Maybe a 1:29  NYC J1 loco with NYC heavyweight coaches could be a future offering?

3)
The tender version of the Little Hauler offered as a Baldwin 2-4-4T with valve gear in the price range of the Indie loco would be another great future offering.

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

TrainWorld has been sold out of the YELLOW 96202 hand car for some time.

Will there be another production run of the YELLOW hand car?

Could you have Barry, of Barry's Big Trains, design a new drive for the hand car so that customers will be happy.

The Gandy Dance hand car and the Trolley are two of the nicest products you produce and unfortunately both products have the worst drives.

It can`t be that difficult to design a drive which will last at a reasonable retail price point.

Even with the bad drive design, I still would like to buy a YELLOW hand car.

Thank you,

Norman

Large / Yellow body Gandy Dancer
March 28, 2013, 07:30:21 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Is there a different product box number for the second production run of the yellow Gandy Dancer with the improved drive?

How does the customer know which version of drive exists in the yellow Gandy Dancer when ordering on line through the internet?

Thank you,

Norman

Large / Little Hauler bashes
January 04, 2013, 01:26:43 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

On the large scale boards there are now several postings of adults improving the details on these locos.
It is nice to see Bachmann once again offering entry level product pricing locos.
The molded on bell is now the correct scale size ( as compared to the oversized bell of the Indy )

I am hoping that Bachmann will use the Columbia ( the Indy loco ) molds to produce additional Little Hauler locos.

A 2-4-4T or 0-4-4T Little Hauler loco would be most appreciated !

Prototypes to chose from:

   Chloe 0-4-2T ( three foot gauge ), Fairymead 0-4-2T ( two foot gauge ),
  T.V.R.R. J.M. BLAIR 0-4-4T ( three foot gauge ), Visalia RR 2-4-4T ( standard gauge ),
  Disneyland RR No. 5 2-4-4T ( three foot gauge ), WW&F 0-4-4T loco No.1 ( two foot gauge )

The 1:22.5 Bachmann Porter stack lined up with the steam cylinders.
The Little Hauler stack does not line up with the steam cylinders.
Can this be corrected for the next run?

Thank you,
Norman

PS Hopefully some green J&S DRGW cars are in the future?

Large / Little Big Hauler, which stack comes with loco?
January 01, 2013, 04:08:38 AM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

The Bachmann online product catalog photo of Product Code: 91498 Locomotive with Tender illustrates a "shotgun" stack.

This customer photo of this purchased Bachmann product illustrates a fluted cap stack:

http://www.forum.gscalecentral.net/Bachmann-Lil-big-hauler-Tender-Loco-Photo-review-m239861.aspx

Are both versions of stack included with this loco?

Personally, I would like the fluted cap stack.

*** Can the hobbyist slide the boiler and smokebox assembly forward so that the smokestack is vertically inline with the steam cylinders?

The previous Porter loco had the smokestack vertically inline with the steam cylinders.

Thank you,
Nornan

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Little Hauler Ward Kimball loco, additional observation of similarities for hopefully a future Ward Kimball style loco production.

http://whiskeybeforebreakfast.wordpress.com/disneyland-railroad-cad-drawings/

no 5.pdf   line drawing of Ward Kimball loco

http://www.forum.gscalecentral.net/Bachmann-Lil-big-hauler-Tender-Loco-Photo-review-m239861.aspx

Second photo has excellent side view of model

If the Little Hauler smokebox is sliced midpoint between the smokestack and headlamp with the cylinders then slid backward to under the chimney centre line:

the loco then starts to look very similar to the Disneyland Ward Kimball loco.

Slice a section out of the tender for the fuel bin and mount over a two axle truck.

Large / Little Hauler loco future request
December 29, 2012, 01:53:08 AM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

I hope that in the future a 2-4-4T ( Disneyland Ward Kimball styled loco ) and a 0-4-2T ( Chloe styled loco )version of the Little Hauler loco will also be offered.

I like the Little Hauler cab and boiler dome arrangement. That is the cab and boiler which I would have liked to have seen on the 2-4-2 Columbia Locomotive.

Is the Little Hauler smokebox diameter the same as the Columbia smokebox diameter?

Will the Little Hauler cab fit the Columbia loco?

Will future Little Hauler locos feature piston and piston rods?

Please continue to develop the Little Hauler product line as this fills a need in the 1:22.5 and 1:24 marketplace. Not all folks wish to convert to the1:20.3 scale.

Enjoy the holidays,

Norman

Large / J&S big hauler coaches
October 11, 2012, 10:55:01 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Here is a listing for "G" open sides coaches:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Walt-Disney-World-New-Brite-1988-Passenger-Train-Set-G-gauge-Sears-use-with-LGB-/290786827636?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item43b43edd74

Of course coaches of this J&S style were used by many narrow gauge railroads prior to the existance of the Disney Parks.

So, I would like to request some open sides J&S coaches and some green closed sides J&S coaches lettered D&RGW.

Thank you,

Norman

Large / Hartley & Teeter light inspection cars
September 03, 2012, 09:09:06 PM

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

http://www.mylargescale.com/Community/Forums/tabid/56/aff/23/aft/125764/afv/topic/Default.aspx

Bruce Chandler posted an add for the Hartley & Teeter light inspection cars at the above web link and built a model using the Bachmann Gandy Dancer drive.

A suggestion for a future Bachmann product !

Dear Mr. Bachmann:

Can the Indie drivers be removed from the Indie loco axles and remounted on the axles of the Porter loco?
