Title: new locomotive
Post by: trainboy6936 on February 14, 2014, 03:31:08 PM
Hey Bachmann. The other day I was looking at some pictures and I saw a emd gp40 high hood. Owned by the Norfolk Southern. When I saw that I looked online to see if any companies manufactured that unit and saw none. So I was wondering if y'all might be able to make this unit. I understand that y'all produce the emd gp50 high hood, but I was wanting to know if a gp40 version would be possible from y'all.

It's a fairly easy kitbash, build 'em yourself.

Cheers

Roger.

the Bachmann" gp50" actually most closely resembles a high hood gp40 more than a gp50.      real gp50s have much taller radiator grilles than the model does,

Cannon and Co make, or did make, a high short hood that would be suitable: -
