I guess I was looking to see if there is a manual control(a knob or screw that you turn).  You know, the old fashion way!

Can someone tell me if the 3 truck Shay with sound has a volume control?  If it does, can you tell me where it is located?
Thanks for your help.

Large / Re: service time?

I have the very same question or problem.  I sent a new, out of the box 3 truck shay in on 1/06/09 since it would not run nor would the sound or lights work(G scale).  I cannot reach a live person to talk to, tried today in fact, nothing.  I have left three messages on their joke of an answering system.  No one will bother to call me back.  Busy is one thing, but at least have the courtesy to return a call, send an email, something to know that at least  the item was received.  A live person will answer the phone at Accucraft, Aster, USA trains etc. and they can actually help you.  As you can tell I'm frustrated with the lack of customer service shown by Bachmann.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to reply.  I have been over each wire, one was adrift on the circuit board, I fixed it and still nothing but the fliker in the fire box.  I will admit that several and I mean several wires are barely hanging on.  This is a new train just purchased from a dealer and never out of the box.  Are all Bachmanns this fragile?  I may rethink whether I want any more of their trains.  Mine is going back to Bachmann and I will see how they treat me.  Will let you know.

The switch is in the on position on large scale.  Have tried both on positions.  I have a bridgeworks analog transformer wired to a test track with rollers.  My other trains work on this setup as I retried a few of them to make sure it worked, and it did.  Took the bunker off to look at circuit board to see if I could find anything obvious, but nothing.  I think it is odd that just the flicker in the fire box works.

After lubricating new Large scale three truck shay with sound as instructed in the DVD , nothing works except the flicker in the fire box.  No sound, no running, dead.  Any ideas before send back to Bachmann?

Large / 55 ton three truck shay

Just purchased a new 55 ton three truck shay.  It did not come with an owners manual like the other Backmanns I have.  It came with the DVD and the parts diagrams but not the color owners manual.  Does this engine not come with the owners  manual?

Large / Oregon Lumber Heisler

Just purchased a new Oregon Lumber Heisler.  It does not have the side air pumps as shown in the DVD and in the manual.
Were they deleted for some reason or just left out of the box on the one I purchased?
