Yeah!  :D that is what I'm talking about cause there have been several great locomotives that were released only for a brief period the GG1, the PRR S1(even though it was in brass only), the DD40AX, and even the legendary Gas Turbines.

On another note what is everybodies oppinion on the old Docksiders do you think they should be rerealeased and Retooled?

well I'm not one for accuracy when it comes to prototypes but i figured that I could simply repaint a consist of 4 Model Power Heavyweights in Conrail Blue with Microscale decals but obviously it is more complicated than that if anyone has any more pictures of the Blue Conrail Passenger cars that would be helpful. Also interesting question that I'm bringing out at random did Conrail ever operate F45s i mean they were used by most railroads and it that is so that might present another project to do.

I've actually seen the E8's you're talking about there is a set of them on Ebay selling very rediculously high. so that is way out of my budget. The F units i have are all blue with the Conrail logo on the side and i'm not to particulary interested in repainting them like that. It just so happens that i have the link for the picture i found that lead me on to the passenger services operated by Conrail here it is.

Right there you can see the logo to me it looks like either a smoothside or a heavyweight i just am not to knoledgeable in coaches to be able to determine.
Also while we are on the subject is it true that kato is releasing a GG1 if so i think someone should suggest them to sell it in Conrail Colors.

yes exactly we're not seeing enough Amtrak in N scale theses days not any classic Amtrak anyway all we have had in the past so far is the E60, GG1, and crappy Lima F45s. Plus not to mention all of the Fantasy Amtrak equipment and even though those never ran on Amtrak they still looked good in the paint scheme. Of  particular not the American Freedom Train for a breif breif time ran with the Amtrak Logo. Cmon Bachmann lead us into the new classic era of N scale Amtrak Modeling. Oops almost forgot if you do remake the Turbo Train Please put it in Amtrak Colors.

Quick Vote here who would like to see the Bachmann Turbo Train return with new tooling and design?

First of all thx Conrail Quality for the info it will help me out with modeling my layout.

I'm not really interested in powering coaches i'm actually looking for something to repaint to be pulled by my two minitrix Conrail F9s so i was thinking either the Con-cor Smooth sides or Model Power Heavyweights which would be better.

Also in terms of Layout how would be the best way to model Amtrak plus Conrail Operations.

To all who wished to help

After Perusing over several photographs of Conrail locomotives in action and a quik info trip to wikipedia i have reason to believe that Conrail the mostly freight oriented railroad for a brief period had passenger operations is this true?
If so I was wondering what would be the best prototype of coaches to use from a custom repaint job. get back to me ASAP

Oh yeah forgot about that one we need the Double Ds they were awesome but my main concerns are over the ones that didn't run well Bachmann now has some great technology at its desposle so i'm thinking there is no reason why they should not retool some of the older crappy models like the Turbo Train and the Docksider.

quick question whatever happened to the n scale amtrak pepsi cans that Atlas used to make are they planning on bringing them back i'm told they were great running locos. any other info would be helpful.

Also Ps to the Bachmann here is an idea why don't you guys consider bringing back the good old metroliners or perhaps retooling and rereleasing the Turbotrain i mean if rapido can do it right then so can you. let's see the revival of the old classics like the magnificent Doodlebug, the  PRR Shifter, the Plasser, the French TGV, the Amtrak E60, the Baldwin Sharks, all the F9 Color schemes, and the Docksider to name a few. I'm certain i'm not the only one who would like to see these come back.

I just recently began a subscription to Del Prado Locomotives and i've already begun plan to do remotoring. I was just wondering has anyone ever tried to remotor any of the steam engines they offer like the genral, flying scotsman and royal hudson.

Well welcome iron horse to the wonderful world of n scale i think you will find it to be worth giving a shot.
If you're into modeling AT&SF you've come to the right place and in terms of steam era you should know that Con-Cor is to dat ethe only company offering up an N scale version of the famous Blue Goose Streamliner. Hope this helps and good luck with you're layout.
