N / The new Berkshire Question
September 04, 2014, 08:09:47 AM
I'm very interested in the new N Berkshire but am wondering what the length will be tender to loco pilot? I have a rather small turntable bridge and am wondering if it will fit.

Thanks,

N / Tender size on new Alco 2-6-0
October 12, 2012, 08:43:41 AM
Can anyone tell me if the tender on the new Alco 2-6-0 loco is the same size as on the 4-6-0 loco  or smaller? I feel that the tender on the 4-6-0 is grossly oversized  in proportion to the engine itself. From the pictures posted on the Bachmann web site it seems like the Alco indeed does have a shorter tender.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know when we will see an actual picture of the new Alco 2-6-0 loco?

Thanks,

N / N Scale #89653 Slope Back Tender
October 09, 2012, 05:58:20 PM
Hello all,

I am wondering if the Spectrum #89653 N Scale Slope back tender has ALL WHEEL PICK UP ? I'd like to purchase one and attach it to the relatively new  Baldwin 4-6-0 loco to replace the stock tender which I feel is far over sized. It looks like the power draw bar would also be a direct replacement.

Thanks in advance for your help.

How difficult was it to  dismantle part of the loco to get at  the pin that holds the front trucks to the lcoc chassis?

Thanks,

Hi,

What kind of spring did you use? I noticed that simply putting a piece of thin cardboard above the front truck bracket where it is attached to the chassis corrects the problem. That is till the cardboard falls out! I think that some of the front truck brackets may be malformed at the factory. This should not be happening in a loco of this cost. This may be a quality control issue.

Thanks,

Thanks for the info but I already checked the wheels. They are right on as far as gauge is concerned.

Hi All,

Just received my new Spectrum 2-10-2 loco. It is a magnificent piece. It runs well; it pulls great. My problem is that the front pilot trucks like to derail on curves. There is no problem with the track because all 20 other of my locos run flawlessly. Any ideas?

Thanks,

I just purchased a new Spectrum USRA Light 2-10-2 loco and would like to change out the supplied couplers with Micro-Trains couplers.  Can anyone tell me which couplers I need to use? The reason I am doing this is because the supplied Backmann couplers do not seem to perfectly mate with the Micro Train couplers on my rolling stock. Sometimes when the loco navigates a curve the freight load uncouples from the loco.

Thanks in advance.
