Dear Friends,
My computer is hooked up to DSL @ 100Mbps and is pretty doggone fast. However, the downloading time between and in the forums is slower than a turtle on this site.
Is this an issue with other users, or is it just me? If it is due to security tools that the Administrator has used, that is fine with me.
Thoughts, anyone?
Best, Jack
Yep' its a bit slow but does load.
Monday morning (16th) my browser timed out and showed this site was not available.
With persistence I was able to get in and found navigation within the site slow.
Logging onto the site is still slow but navigation within the site has improved.
I’m across the continent and this is my experience and not a complaint.
I have DSL and the downloading is running quite slow
It's slow slow slow. The old way was much faster. :-[ :-[ :-[
Slow for me too, but it could be that we have used up all of our gigs for the month so we are running at dial up speed. Also how do you think it was for me yesterday. One of the telecom routers in Auckland (where I live) got a fault and made most of their broaband users have no internet or veeeeeeeeerrrrrrryyyyyyyy slow internet for 5 hours.
I'm on DSL and yes, this week, the forum has been veeeeery slow loading, both for the home page and between threads once on the site.
Yup! Same here and been that way for more than a few days.
Everything else is seemingly normal however. I have heard from others that some other sites are running slow. Guess it depends on where you are?
I've also noticed that everything slows to crawl at around 1800hrs during the week. Not so much on week ends. Back to normal by 2030hrs.
Cheers,
Rich R
Wednesday evening 7:39pm est. Sure is slow now. I am on Charter cable.
When I logged in it took 35 seconds after I clicked OK to get to the messages.
My 48 year old stepson is a computer programmer and reminds me quite often that, "The Geeks Have Won. Deal with it".

Dear All,
My pages open almost instantly on FIOS. Maybe it's your ISP.
Have fun!

Yes, that's a fact. The server has been extremely slow this week. I don't see how it can be related to anyone's ISP.
I wish to confirm that the site has been slow for me, and often comes up with error message that the site is not available, suggesting there is too much traffic for the server.
Regards

I don't think it has anything to do anyone's ISP with half a dozen unrelated users reporting probems, it must be at the Bachmann end.
Very slow here for a couple of days also....
Yeah,
I have dsl and I can load any page up in a snap 'cept this one.It took 1min 20 sec. for me to log in.That is very slow.It is not isp causing it.I can go to Bot talk and load up a forum 10 times the size of this one in a second or 2.So just to agree with everyone it is on the Bachmann end.
Still slow here in NE Pennslyvania on DSL as it has been all week.

Dear mister Bachmann - I am also operating on Verizon FIOS at a speed of 2 Gig and the website is SLOW to load. I waited at least a minute to get the site to open this morning.
Same here......been like this for almost three days now.....
Just posted on the forum and it took well over a minute to go through. I'm looking at the little moving "M"icon and it's barely creeping along slowly right now.
I've got a feeling it's all going be like that for a spell.
Cheers,
Rich R
SLLLLLLLLLLLLoooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww!
What happened. It just started going slow just recently. We also have DSL and it's lightening fast anywhere else. It take forever to navigate this website.
What happened? >:(
The site is very slow to open here in Rochester, NY. I have road runner, very fast for everything else but this site
Look Mr. B’ Mann.
Not sure what your problem is.
You have many reporting a problem with slow loading of your web pages.
Add me to the list.
Please justify your response:
Dear All,
My pages open almost instantly on FIOS. Maybe it's your ISP.
Have fun!

Obviously you have not even bothered to investigate the alleged problem.
Why didn’t you do a little investigation before you posted?
Understandably your response is the same as is so prevalent now-a-days.
Nobody accepts responsibility; they just blow it off on whatever/whoever they can, (‘you’re ISPâ€)
You would have saved your creditability simply posting that you have contacted your forum administrators about the alleged problem, if you in fact did, rather than saying “there is no problem… must be your ISPâ€
Shame on you.
Whatever excuse you may offer is just that…
MAN UP
I'm done
;) My downloads are at 36 Mbps here in Louisiana. No slowdown here.

I have been having this problem here in Australia, only on the Message Board, not the rest of the Bachmann site. No trouble on other sites.
Could be the security stuff I am running I suppose, but I am not sure why only the Bachmann message board would be affected. Is there anything unusual about the Bachmann board that could affect some ISPs or some security software? As others have reported this is a recent problem, before I had no trouble.

Dear James,
I can attest that our dear Mr. Bach-man is dripping with integrity!
You will find him to be very helpful and of a very high caliber, at least .44!
Best, Jack
lol good joke. all back to normal for me now tho. ;D
EDIT: Mr Bach man. I dont think it could have been my service provider because everything was OK after those 5 hours (according to telecom and one news). Also I'm on a different continent (australasia is sort of a continent :-\) so I couldn't have the same sevice provider as everyone else.
Dear James,
My pages load quickly. I live in New York. Ergo, the problem is not everywhere, as I don't have it. How would you suggest I check speeds in Florida from here? In fact, our people are looking into it.
Have fun!

Hey guys,
I'm in Newfoundland on a DSL hook-up and have had no problems at all. Must be the local service connections.
The Ginzokid
Still a little slow here. Charter cable connection.
Twenty five seconds from the time I clicked on the Bachmann forums page address..
Forty five seconds after I clicked the login button.
Everone else, fast.

Don't know if this will be of any help to figure out what the problem is but I've noticed a few things.
1. Site is very slow to start during the login process. Could time out.
2. Login is very slow.
3. Very slow to add posts.
4. very slow to log out.
Once logged in, it's pretty fast to switch between posts or scales and that part seems normal.
That help anyone with the diagnosis?
Rich R
Its been 2 days since I logged in re slow down on this site. It is still slow. I"m not haveing this issue with any other down load sites. Sorry Bach man
Yeah, let me throw my hat into the ring too. It's still slow, but better than what it was yesterday. Where's Nigel when you need him? :)
Dear All,
We are looking into it. Interestingly, tonight it was slow to open for me, too...
It seems normal now that I'm in, though.
Have fun!
the Bach-man
Ask your admin if he has changed any software settings the last 2 or 3 weeks. As the problem is being reported world wide, it's good that it is being looked into. Thanks, Paul
It's fast again!!! Woooooooooohooooooo!!!
Taint no more broke!! :)
working good here in rochester. Thanks
Back to normal. Nice.
rikc9
Mine never went to slow-mo, BUT I haven't logged out since sign-up.
my bad, worked good for me.
Hey B-Man, is staying logged in or not logging out a BAD thing?
P.S. I am on this site alot, and almost every day.
Barry
Back to normal... ;) :) :D ;D
Yes, it had been a little slow for about a week, all seems fine now. Additionally, the problem I mentioned in another thread about having problems when using my AOL browser are now gone. Must have been a Bachmann site problem after all.
Sheldon
I have just come on and the program is back to its old speedy self.
YUP! seems to be the same old fast loading forum we all love again!
Cheers,

Yeah, for a while they had no clue that they had no clue. We had to do a lot to clue them in.
Geeks.

Johann;
How can you say that? You have twenty guys using God knows how many providers, and they all CAN"T be doing this at the same time. There has to be another answer.
Rich
It's back to being fast again, down here
Just an observation - when I am in Europe the site works fine until about lunchtime when it starts to slow down. Maybe all these people in the USA logging on? Or maybe the whole US ISP network slows down for the same reason. It has been assumed for a while that the internet works much faster when America sleeps........
Chris ;)
I have earthlink's DSL and any site I visit the server is busy with 20 or more users the site(s) will all slow down. I just wait until the site I am using isn't so busy. :(
Technology Ya gotta love it.... :-\
