Mr Bach-man -
Firstly, it was great meeting you in Sacramento.
Here are a couple rollingstock ideas -
Four wheel caboose
Short combine
MoW cars
Westcoast beer reefers :D
-John
Dear John,
You as well! Thanks for the suggestions!
Best,
the Bach-man
To add to the list, some Steel ore cars, similar to the Kilbourne & Jacobs steel orecars, as used by Grandby on their 3ft gauge Hidden CreekCopper line. Some of these car's ended up on the WP&Y as ballast cars.
Plans shown in "Steel Rail & Silver Dreams".
For a reefer "Rouge Breweries" out of Oregon.

Steel box car!
Mr. Bachman,
I would like to see more Maine type rolling stock, Combine, Caboose
or exsisting stock lettered for SRRL
Disconect log-bunks like on the FM
Remember the kit undecorated in the Big Hauler line some years ago?
Would be great to have for kit bashing, and save on assembly costs?
Thanks 8) 8) 8) 8)
Seems like it is time for a long caboose to go with your short caboose.
Thanks.
hi
Yes I agree a new caboose either long or short would be wonderfully accepted ( not a 4 wheel though ) also a steel box another great idea, would be welcome to my roster ! :D ;D :D

Steel Boxcar would be a favorite.
Something for the Loggers: Logging Caboose - a West Side prototype for example...
More Maine 2-footers rolling stock: SR&RL after you already produce the Forneys...
Cheers, Tom ;)
Yes, please more Maine rolling stock and how about log loaders, cranes and/or rail mounted steam shovels to go with the side dumps and V dumps.

A CandS style caboose would be great.

this caboose would be easy to make (just modify the existing one) and I woyld buy a few.
How'a bout some ET&WNC Piggy backs. Great way to haul trailers around. Would go really great for the new Ten Wheelers.
Rock On!

Grandt Line offers a C&S style 4-wheel short caboose kit in O that would be realtively easy to modify to On30. Check their web page, there are pictures of it up and you can buy a lot of the parts seperately, I've been using them on some SP/C&C and D&RGW scratchbuilds.
Something that would be relatively easy to tool up is a snowplow based on the current caboose. A new roof to move the cupola to one end and a blade with some side wings designed to fit on one end of the body and over the sides of it, would do the job. I was debating on scratchbuilding some parts to turn one of my cabooses into a plow.
Or an longer caboose, such as 505 & 506 of the ET&WNC. Just add some length to already existing cabeese, and make the cupola a little wider, and it would be perfect.

Thanks, I already knew that but I'm not verry good at putting kits together so I was really hoping for something that was ready to run.
How about an On30 model of this beauty:

How about some ET&WNC Vistibul coaches, or ET&WNC Excursion cars.
Rock On!

Deerfield River Laser (models?) is producing kits for these. They are doing the open platform coach from the Linville River, combine/RPO #15, the Azalea, and the closed vestibule coaches!
Bachmann coach frame and roof are used with the wood bodies.
Great looking stuff on the web site!
That's right! I forgot about that; but a ET&WNC Excursion car would be awesome as well.

A great suggestion was made here a while back, that perhaps a new Curved roof both plain / corragated styles be produced as an accessory to be a replacement for the Box/ cattle cars and reefer cars.
The could be sold like the new replacement underframes in a 3 pack.
What about Mr Bachmann?
Geoff ;)
Here are some more interesting ideas for Mr. Bachmann. Enjoy! :D ;D :) ;)

I concurr with others that curved-roofed or corrugated-roof boxcars or stock cars/banana cars would be great. I also like the idea of a two-truck Caribbean/Cuban style sugar cane car, too.
While I would also like to see an Railway Post Office car or a combination Railway Post Office--baggage car with either a clerestory roof or round roof and NO end platforms, I'm beginning to think that even modelers with my minimal skill might be able to kitbash such a beastie.
I have noticed that bachmann is planning to make an open air coach in HO.
How about one in On30, too? :) ;D
Steel box car - outside frame 24-26 feet in length.
Two different roofs and you have North American and international box cars.
And how about these cars...

I would also like to see a double door bagage car like the ones used by the Rio Grande only sized to fit with the existing passenger cars.
Here is an idea for a bachmann set with rolling stock.

Funaro is offering a kit for the EBT steel box car. Not a simple shake the box job but with patience they're not that hard to assemble.
How about a coach with a cupula? ;)
Micro-Mark has a laser-cut wood kit to add one to the Bachmann coach/combine. Don't care for the appearance or the cost on it so I scratchbuilt one out of styrene, took me about 20 minutes copying one for a Carson & Colorado combine/caboose from some old plans. Cut the top on a combine to fit it between the baggage door and the window section, and it looks a lot better.
Just made my third cupola for an entirely freelanced caboose today. Nothing that difficult to make.
