Title: dynamis questions
Post by: vicsrc on January 23, 2015, 08:10:35 PM
I have a new dynamis unit and the instructions are about as clear as mud
Is there any other place to get step by step instructions on how to use this unit?

For that you have to read the instructions for the decoder that is in the engine. They will tell you what function key to press.

Yes, mud it is, but so are the instructions with all of the other DCC systems.
Though, once you learn all of the ways your system works, you will become a happy person.

You might want to track down 'The DCC Guide', http://www.kalmbachstore.com/12488.html (http://www.kalmbachstore.com/12488.html) from Model Railroader and published by Kalmbach. It explains things in fairly plain language.

The NMRA set the standards for basic motor control decoders some time back. By default, headlights are assigned to function F0 on a decoder that hasn't been reprogrammed.

The complete standard for CV assignments of motor control decoders can be found at, http://www.nmra.org/sites/default/files/standards/sandrp/pdf/s-9.2.2_decoder_cvs_2012.07.pdf (http://www.nmra.org/sites/default/files/standards/sandrp/pdf/s-9.2.2_decoder_cvs_2012.07.pdf)
