Title: Modifying E-Z Track
Post by: Bubblehead on January 01, 2017, 07:42:05 PM
I'm new to model railroading and I found a layout that I like by Atlas. My LHS recommended E-Z track after buying my track and looking closer the my layout I notice that 18" 1/3 section on my remote turnout left 44561 needs to be removed. Has anyone tried removing the 18" 1/3 section?

Comparing Bachmann layouts to other track manufactures, it seems that Bachmann should make turnouts without the 18" 1/3 section.

Yes I have, not that difficult as it seems. There are numerous ways  but I found using a 32TPI blade works fine.
In this book it describes exactly what you want to do and is what inspired me to do so.

Removing the ties after you cut is tricky. You must remove a row to allow the rail joiner to slide on far enough.
