HO / Ho Climax Question
February 23, 2016, 03:38:44 AM
I am thinking of using just the bogies of the  Ho/OO Bachmann 70 ton Climax for an On30 project and was wondering if anyone has one they could measure up for me, please?

I am after the measurement, in Millimeters, between the axle boxes on a bogie if at all possible. I have a feeling the bogies could be just be what I am after to start thinking about a new project. I do realise I'd need to buy them from Bachmann but that is ok.

Thank you very much in advance to anyone who could be of assistance.

On30 / EZ COmmand question
October 17, 2015, 08:11:00 PM
I am a complete illiterate when it comes to dcc. I don't understand what a CV is.

I want to change the whistle sounds on one of my Heislers to make them easier to recognise.

How does one do this with an EZ Command controller? What buttons do I need to push? I have looked and looked on the instruction sheets  but I can't find how to do this.

or can I do this?

TIA

On30 / replacement gears
September 22, 2013, 08:39:54 PM
Well, I've waited and waited since they were first  advertised several months ago but to no avail. ???

I've even recieved the email from Bachmann saying they had recieved my email requesting replacements and would be posting them out 'soon'. But nothing arrives in the post. Other modellers here in New Zealand have recieved their replacements but my letter box still remains empty ???

Mr Bachmann, what should I do? 4-5 months is rather a long time to keep hoping something will happen.

With the new Heisler and 2-4-4-2 etc will they still run dc straight from the box, or will I have to muck around with jumpers etc

Thanks,

Any news or thoughts when these will show up?  Kinda looking forward to seeing them.

And what happened to the box cars. Have they been withdrawn for some reason?

Just so you don't get gazzumped by other people stealing your thunder a few days before a new release, why don't don't you do a 'press release' a week before  hand.

That way you will get to announce new models before anyone else beats you to it. And it won't make a blind bit of differance about 'commercial sensitivites' with in a week of general release, will it ? After all, the models are already due for the market.

On30 / just wondering
May 07, 2010, 12:20:10 AM
???When exactly will we know the date of the 'new' releases? It can't be too far away. Next month isn't?

Living outside of the States ( as I do )  we tend to let these dates slip.

On30 / Bachman dcc decoder question
January 27, 2010, 06:30:48 PM
To those who know about these things,

I want to add a dcc decoder to my Climax. If I add a Bachman 8 pin plugged decoder to the loco will I still be able to run it on a dc layout as well without frying the decoder? And will it improve the operation of the model? The lokey is dcc ready ( and waiting)

Thanks

Lindsay

On30 / New stuff
July 10, 2009, 03:31:40 AM

Congratulations Bachman,

Yeah, the new stuff is nice. Really nice.  But when the heck is Bachman going to listen to what WE want.

A HEISLER !!!

Come on. It is the most consistantly ask for loco for years !!!

(or is it because they are having problems with the gear trains of the other 2 geared lokeys that they won't chance their arm with releasing it.) ??? ??? ???

On30 / Heisler web site
May 17, 2009, 04:57:50 PM
For those of you who like the Heisler I have created a web site  of pictures of remaining  ( ie stored )  Heislers imported into New Zealand for people to use.

Perhaps it might help the Bachman company decide to produce one or several  :) :) ;) ;)

www.heisler.webs.com

is the location.

On30 / Climax Drive Shaft
October 06, 2008, 08:10:45 PM
Hi guys,

Not 2 minutes ago I put a brand new, out of the box,  Climax on my track and it ran for 30 seconds max.

Then the front drive shaft started to slip and  then it fell off the metal conecting stub right behind the trailing edge of the rear of the bogie and the front bogies wouldn't turn. I started it real slow and really carefully as I am well aware of some of the problems with these geared lokeys that you guys are having with them.

Any ideas on how to fix it locally? I live in New Zealand so don't want to have to return the whole shebang back to the States for fixing.

Disappointed? You bet !!!  It should go a lot longer than that. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???   Bring on the Heisler, I say !!!!

Can one run a bachman dcc equiped loco on straight dc track? Or does the loco come with the little plug for dc so you can change it your self. Thanks in advance

General Discussion / Bachman parts : re Climax
May 24, 2008, 05:13:19 PM
Does any one know where I could buy a couple of complete Climax bogies, please? I am thinking of scratch building a backwoods bush lokey from a Bachman flat/gondola. Thanks in advance.
