Large / Railtruck question
January 26, 2013, 09:48:20 AM
Friends,
Did Bachmann fix the long screw problem with the transmission on later production runs of the railtruck? If so, how do you tell from the box if it is new production run or old?

Large / 2013 Catalog

When might the new 2013 catalog come out? Hope it has some new Big Hauler Rio Grande repaints!

Large / 2013 'Annie' & Big Hauler request
January 05, 2013, 04:13:58 PM
Mr. Bachmann,
Please update the 'Annie' with paint schemes like those offered on the
Rio Grande C-19. Flying  Grande herald and spelled out road name would both be FANTASTIC. This would give you more sells for little investment (repainting does cost to set up, but nothing like a new mold). Also, possibly put the C-19 tender with the 'Annie', giving it a total different appearance from past issues (you might use the 'Annie' trucks to same some money, again).
I would LOVE to see green Big Hauler D&RGW passenger cars offered by Bachmann. No one offeres this paint scheme in 1:22 scale rolling stock currently (and only one company did one run of those and they are SOLD OUT). This would be a great addition to the Bachmann line-up!
One last request is to offer the Lil Big Haulers in real road names. That bumble-bee loco sure is cute and with D&RGW on it, it would be even better! Kids and adults would like real road names.
I don't know when the 2013 catalog will be out (soon I guess), but I hope to see something really great for us 1:22 scale guys.

Ted

Large / Repaint request, again!
December 31, 2012, 07:53:07 PM
Mr. Bachmann,
Please give us some more 'Annies' repainted like the two black Rio Grande versions of the C-19. They are similar in size and would make more folks want them. My personal preferance would be silver smokebox rather than graphite. Also, PLEASE issue the Big Hauler 1:22 scale passenger cars in the green D&RGW scheme. These repaints would be an economic way to pick up more sells without large investment (no new molds, etc). Also, there are NO commercially produced green painted D&RGW 1:22 scale passenger cars on the market today.
Another possibility is to issue the Lil Big Haulers in real road names. That bumble-bee loco would be CUTE as a D&RGW loco!
I know it is almost 2013. Hope we hear soon that we will get new repaints for us loyal Bachmann 1:22 scale folks. Looking forward to the new catalog!

Large / Lil' Big Hauler request
December 02, 2012, 11:48:26 AM
 :)
I just got the Lil' Big Hauler Christmas set. One word-CUTE! The loco is quiet, it is well proportioned, and with some details added, could make a nice little yard engine or logging loco. Now for the request, how about lettering a seperate sell loco (tender version) with the Moffit Tunnel Herald and spelled out Rio Grande Western down the tender on the bumble-bee loco loco and Flying Grande herald on the black loco. Then Bachmann would have Lil' Big Haulers, Annies (assuming you offer these schemes next year), and the C-19's all with similar paint. Many modelers would want one of each! They would all look reasonable together on the same layout, too.

Large / New Annie/Big Hauler repaints please
November 14, 2012, 05:42:25 PM
Mr. Bachmann,
I would love to see, and have asked before, the Annie painted with the Flying Grande herald (with silver smokebox and front side window body part exactly like the Rio Grande Southern version). Even the Moffit Tunnel herald would another excellent addition (and reason to buy another loco). Green D&RGW passenger cars would be a welcome addition to this line. Remember, there are still some of us using that original scale to model Coilorado lines. Please pass this on to those powers that be (and the ones with the paint brushes).

Large / Big Haulers and 'Annie' request
October 04, 2012, 05:14:52 PM
Still looking for 'Annie' with black loco/tender, silver smokebox, and white Flying Grande herald and lettering. Green D&RGW passenger cars would also be FANTASTIC! OK, Bachmann, when can we get these products from you!

Large / New Annie Paint Schemes?
August 04, 2012, 08:47:12 AM
Mr. Bach-Mann,
The C-19 is wonderful. Love the Rio Grande. Now, when can we expect the same paint schemes (Flying Grande and Moffit Tunnel heralds) on the Annie. Also, green D&RGW passenger carts would be excellent sellers. Hope these will be announced soon!

Large / New for 2012? When?
January 15, 2012, 11:39:06 AM
Mr. Bach-man,
When might new for 2012 items be announced? When might the new 2012 catalog appear? I do hope for new Big Hauler Rio Grande items (like green passenger cars and Flying Grande herald on the Annie).
Happy Rails To You,
Ted

What is the 'L' designation before the stock number on the package of a G Scale box car mean? Is this new?
#32
Mr. Bach-Man,
Thanks so much for producing the new paint scheme for the #93106 Denver & Rio Grande bobber caboose. Now, if we could just get some green passenger cars and an 'Annie' with the Flying Grande herald!

Large / Rio Grande items?
September 06, 2011, 08:02:46 PM
Mr. Bachmann,
Why no images of the 'New' Annie in Bumble-Bee (especially if it is same as old version)? Also, why no image of the caboose (if it is ame as old versions offered in sets)? There are TWO Rio Grande bobbers listed in catalogue (one Rio Grande and other Rio Grande Western)?
I sure would like to see some new paint schemes for the Rio Grande offered in the Annie and the 1:22.5 scale passenger cars. Maybe a simple black with silver boiler white 'Flying Grande' logo in the Annie and green passenger cars. It sure seems that these items would give Bachmann a new offering at little investment. Maybe even a special set for the Rio Grande  like the Colorado & Southern or Southern RR sets offered years ago. Anyway, you have great products, so do not forget us 1:22.5 scale modelers PLEASE!

Ted

Large / Southeast Garden Railroad Show/Banquet info
April 18, 2011, 08:04:13 PM
The Southeast Garden Railroad Show will open at 9am Friday, May 13 at the Northwest Georgia Trade Center just west of I-75 in Dalton, GA (20 minutes south of Chattanooga, TN and 1 hour north of Atlanta, GA, 2 hours from Knoxville, TN and 3 hours from Nashville, TN). The show will again open at 9am on Saturday.
Friday evening, May 13, will be the traditional banquet sponsored by the Georgia Garden Railway Society. This year it is moving about 3 blocks south to the Freight Depot so we can all be on one level. Local bluegrass band, Spatial Effects, will perform train oriented songs as well as a few traditional bluegrass songs, and even a few funny originals the group has. Ron Blaylock, a local theater performer, will entertain with a costumed bit about the Bohannon Gang that once robbed trains just north of downtown Dalton. The same folks from last year will supply the food. Door prizes will be provided by the vendors as well as Rolling Stock,  USA Trains, and Aristo-Craft. Tickets must be ordered in advance and they are $25.00 each and can be ordered from Alan Mole, 8370 Colonial Place, Duluth, GA 30097. Make check payable to GGRS. The banquet will start at 7pm.
The Georgia Garden Railway Society will host layout tours on Sunday following the show. Most layouts are in the metro Atlanta area. Free directions available at the Georgia Garden Railway Society booth at the show.

Large / Southeast Garden Railroad Show/May 13-14
March 13, 2011, 04:32:53 PM
Bachmann,
Hope to see you at this show in Dalton, Georgia. VERY nice facility. This year they are including Lionel type trains, so the Williams line would fit right in. Naturally, the large scale line would be included.

Mr. Bachmann,
I see 2 bobber cabooses (#'s 93106 and 93148) listed in the 2011 Bachmann catalogue without photos. Are these two different cabooses? Are they like the one in the set? What paint scheme wil be on them? When will they be available? ALSO, I see the 'NEW' Annie listed in D&RGW #91602, but with no photo available. What is different about the paint on this loco? As you can see, I have lots of questions, but am as excited as a kid in a candy store that some new D&RGW paint schemes may become factory available from Bachmann. THANK YOU from us guys still in 1:22.5 scale!

A show about building garden railroads will be on the DIY network tomorrow (WED) at 7:30AM. This was a series of a few years ago where Mark Fuhrman built a layout for the Oak Ridge TN. Children's Museum. EXCELLENT show!
