You mention the new Bachmann small size decoder will work in an N scale loco. Are you referring to decoder BAC 44925?

I have 2 H16-44's in N scale and want to put decoders in them. I removed the shells and checked and there is room. My entire system is Bachmann and I'd prefer to use the Bachmann decoders.

Thanks,

Thank you thank you thank you. I will now be ordering one of these. I did look online but you apparently had better luck than I did at finding a photo of the real one. Anyway it's nice to know someone understood what I was trying to say about the online catalog image. Thanks again.

Quick question for the Bach man

Is the turquoise blue color on the RTR HO FT-A Santa Fe/Freight w/DCC incorrect in the online catalog? Posters say their purchased units are the correct dark blue color. If so, I'll order. If not, will it be corrected in the future?

Love my EZ track system and my locos. Great product.

Thanks for the info. That changes things. Although you'd think they'd fix the picture because I passed on the loco because of that, and others probably did too. The Bachmann FT-A series is great and it's good to know they did get it right.

For those with that degree of skill, correction is an option. However the Bachmann paint jobs are very nice and this unit in the right color of blue would be a real showstopper for them.

Are there any plans in the future to correct the blue color on this particular unit? The yellow color is fine but the blue is nearly turquoise as opposed to a much darker blue on the real Santa Fe freight FT-A's. A simple internet check will reveal the color discrepancy.

It's a shame because it's an excellent addition to the FT-A selections Bachmann has to offer.

Joe,

The corrections are what I was looking for and it means I don't have to purchase random sections of partial curve at different radiuses and lengths to try and get what I want.

You've narrowed the choices right down. Thanks for the time and effort. I knew it could be done but did not know how to calculate it.

I also have a turn out related question. I have HO scale Nickel Silver EZ track (gray base).

I have two tracks running in parallel. Towards one end I want to put a #6 crossover and at the other I want to bring the two parallel tracks together at a turnout.

Do I have to use a #6 turnout to connect to a #6 crossover?  What radius and length of curve do I need coming off the #6 turnout to bring the track parallel  so it will be the right distance apart to connect correctly with the parallel tracks running from the #6 crossover?

Also, can I connect from a #5 turnout to a #6 crossover and if so, what curve is required coming off the #5 turnout to get the track the right width apart to connect to the #6 crossover?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
