Large / New Scale Ideas for Bachmann
April 11, 2010, 02:40:52 PM
Dear Mr. Bachmann,

I love your Gn3/Fn3 scale products, but I think there are some other G-related scales you should try.

First off, there is Gauge 3, which represents standard gauge prototypes usually in 1:22.5 scale. Thus, they run on 64 mm wide track.

And there is also Gn15, which is G scale running on HO scale track representing 15 inch gauge.

I hope you consider these gauges. Thanks.

Hmm, a one and a half truck Climax would be an interesting beast.
;) ;D

But what about a 4 truck climax?

Thomas & Friends / Re: How many cars for Emily?

I have Emily, her tender and 2 coaches.  She can pull maybe one additional small car after that, but otherwise she loses traction and spins out.
If you add a little bit of weight, she can do more, but I don't know if that will damage the motor or not.

Yeah. The real stirling single wasn't much of a puller. My best bet is to study what Emily pulled in the TV series and maybe go from there.

Emily is based on the Stirling Single. It has a tractive effort of 11,245 pounds, which is about 374 horsepower. I'm not sure how many that would be in HO scale.

I'm sure Emily is not a live steam HO scale Single ;)

I didn't say she was. I was just giving you an idea on how many she could pull.

Trainguy, you may want to fix the topic title.

Why? I'm looking for poseable figures. You know the kind with articulation in the joints.

Does anyone know what yould be the best posible figures for a Thomas HO layout?

Now if Bachmann made Fergus, Rosie, and or Flora, that would make your layout cooler.
