I heard the sam rumor.

If they did, would it be LGB by Bachmann, just LGB or would Bachmann consolidate the Big Haulers with the LGB line, keeping 1:22.5 alive?

As of now most vendors are focusing on 1:20.3, however, they cost more.   I lot of folks have the 1:22.5 and 1:24 equipment and it would be nice if Bachmann would be able to add more locos and other items to the Big Hauler line.

Robbie,

I would contact the service dept on Monday.  That is NOT a cheap loco and should work out of the box.

Hope it works out, please update us when you get some info, I was thinking about getting one of those.

Large / Re: Sound for large scale
July 12, 2009, 09:48:05 AM
From what I understand, here are our options (please correct me if I'm wrong)

QSI: DCC and Sounds all in one, has BEMF for speed control, can download updates, however, does NOT control the smoke unit and only controls the headlight and light on tender, does not control flicker in loco or other lights.

Question:  What sounds come with this board?  Does it only have the cuff and whistle? i.e. other sound boards have coal shoveling, coupler clank etc?  I have been up and down the QSI web site and can't find a list of sound they offer on that board.

LokSound: great DCC and sound all in one board,  BEMF motor control and lots of controls for lighting etc.  Downloadable  updates

Pheonix: sounds only, very nice sounds, VERY expensive.

Dallee: sounds only and they are not very good.

Digitrax: DCC only for large scale

MRC: has a generic sound board.

Lenz: great DCC boards, no sound

NCE great DCC system, no sound

Soundtraxx: rumored to be working on a Tsunami for large scale.

B- mann, thank you for the info

So.....One can still hope for 1:20.3 passenger cars this year. ;)

I mean come on,  it makes sence,  first came locomotives and now you have the frieght cars being added, the next logical step has to be the passenger cars. Right? ;D

Large / New product announcements for Large Scale
June 04, 2009, 10:42:25 AM
Generally speaking, when does Bachmann announce new products for their large Scale line?  i.e. at a specific show or time of year.

Crimedawg

Welcome to the hobby!

I have Lionel orig Postwar and some current offerings as well as Williams.  Trust me you can not go wrong with the Williams. You can run these trains into the ground!

I also have Large scale and have had no complaints with the quality and  service from Bachmann.

This is a great forum for asking questions and sharing ideas.

May your trains bring you and your son many happy memories. :)

With all respect,  I think you are taking this too serious.  I don't see anything wrong with making a train that is fun.  Why does it matter what SCALE it is.  1:29 is not technically correct for std gauge (1:32 is correct,  which is done by MTH and some others) yet it is produced by USA Trains, Aristo etc. and people buy them.   1:22.5 or 1:24 for american narrow gauge which is/was produced by LGB, Bachmann, HartLand Loco Works and Aristo is not correct (1:20.3 is) yet people buy lots of them and have FUN with them.

Again, I have nothing against folks who are rivet counters and want everything to be exact.  However, some of us just want to play with our trains  and don't  need a museum quality exact replica to do that.

The bottom line is this,  IF Bachmann thinks they can make money on it, they will make it, if not, then they will not built it, regardless of what you or I think.

So, lets go enjoy our trains,  at least we can control our own railroads!

What do you mean 'NO"?

If we can have a Thomas in G why can't we have  John Bull, Lafayette, DeWitt Clinton?  I have nothing against rivet counters, but hey,  this is supposed to FUN!

"How about 'up-scaleing' those HO scale John Bull, Lafayette, DeWitt Clinton, sets to 1:24 scale"

Awesome suggestion!

I would love to see some DSP Locos like a Mason Bogie and some Cooke 2-6-0's and 2-8-0's

Sorry, but I love the western Stuff, C&S, DSP, RGS and even the D&S!
