Title: bachmann dcc equipped loco's run quieter in with dc then with dcc
Post by: NarrowMinded on February 04, 2012, 04:22:39 PM
Seems like every dcc on board loco i have runs quieter with Dc then when running with Dcc I have tried tons of settings and nothing seems to make them run as silent as when on dc only

Any setting suggestions? With ho and up i have just bought better decoders but i just got a couple n scale switchers and dint want to spend money on decoders.

Yes all those will have noise. There are others that refer to themselves as "silent running". I have many of them, and they are very quiet.

Yup it's the decoder, it can be fixed replacing the decoder with a TCS or NCE silent Running (SR) motor output decoder that is CV controlled to produce noiseless operation - no motor buzz. Jim
