Large / Re: K-27 Old Question - Counterweights (Again?)

I finally made it back to town and to my hobby shop where I purchased the K.
The owner and I filled out a fax form, with my bill of sale, and sent it to Bill.
Bill, just send the replacement weights to the hobby shop. His address is on the fax.
I glued the cab back together.
The weathering will start next.

Delton's are 1/24 scale.
A bit on the smaller side to match your Bachmann.

Bill,
He insisted the 50 bucks was for the gear. I even asked 2 or 3 times because I was dumbfounded!
No mention of me sending it in for repair.

I will wait until the Bach-man clarifies this before I make a final decision.

Yes, indeed!
He stated it several times.
$50.00.
For a 50 cent gear?
You used to be able to buy LGB gears and axles in hobby shops for under 5 bucks.

I just called service to report my loose counterweights on my new K.
While on the phone, I also asked about the broken gear on my nearly new 2-8-0.
Some guy named Bill said $50.00 for a new gear and axle.
I was dumbfounded!
I don't have a copy of the receipt for this loco, so I'm screwed.

I Just got a new one on Friday.
The counterweights are loose.
Also, there was no physical evidence on the outside of the shipping box, but the corner of the cab was broken and the doors and windows lying in the cab.
I'll give them a call....................

Large / 2-8-0

Hello,
New guy here, but not new to large scale.
I have a new Bachmann 2-8-0 with a split plastic gear on the driving axle.
Can you tell me how to order a new one, please?
And if you need the broken one returned first?
I don't need to send in the entire loco, because I am familiar with repair and service of all large scale equipment.
Thanks,
John
