On30 / Disconnecting the tender
November 22, 2010, 03:21:11 PM
New to model railroading and I'm just finishing up my first layout in On30 - Started doing the bench work in March '10.  I also have my first loco - a 4-4-0 inside frame.  I have ordered a Tsunami Decoder and want to disconnect my tender from the loco to do the install.  Darndest thing is that I can not seem to get the connectors apart under the loco cab.  Connectors Pushed right on when I attached the tender when I first got it a few months ago.  Is there a secret to disconnecting the connectors?  Am I missing a tab some where?

Thanks.

On30 / Bach Man: On30 power requirements
May 02, 2010, 10:34:35 PM
Bach Man,

I'm brand spanking new to the hobby - just bought a 1890s 4-4-0 - beautiful loco.  Just about to lay track on my first layout.  It is an ambitious (for a newbie) 2 module layout with elevation and will have a bent trestle bridge and tunnel.

A little confused about voltage requirements for On30.  I understand it pulls about .5 Amps, but what is the correct voltage requirement range?  0-16V for HO or 0-21V for O scale?

Thanks a bunch!

Just purchased a On30 4-4-0 - Model - 28302.  Would like the wiring diagram for the loco.  Could you please direct me to a source.  Thank you.
