Just a note

In the plastic model airplane world the model kits today are really nice

BUT

There are those who want more detail and there are lots of after market detail sets to make your plane very detailed and realistic.

I think the same could be going on with this hobby, if not already.

I welcome it becuz as long as WBB does what it does and keeps the prices down I can do my own "dabbling".

WOW 3-RAIL!!!!

Thanks for the info.

I didn't realize how monsterous the size was on this locomotives!!!!!!!

Even articulated it would be a challenge to have on a layout.

I appreciate Williams doing it twice even!!!

According to sources when UP has that Big Boy up and running, they plan to run it around the country

I plan to grab the boys and make a vacation run just to see it run through its paces.

I think semi-scale would be the only realistic way to go iif it ever came out again.

Thanks for the input !!!!

Thanks WM

As a matter of fact we were running them last night.

I don't know if I had mentioned my brother and sister bought him the "Chessie System" GP-38 and we were running it last night. I don't think the catalog pictures sometimes  do justice to the livery colors. I really like how rich the yellow appears probably a hint of red to give it that rich look. Anyway it looks good on the layout and it is a nice "puller".

I hope to get to the "bulbs" this weekend. From another post on my "Dem Bulbs" post I think I will go ahead and install the 24volt bulbs from the start. If you look at the video Chessie made the high voltage LED's look really nice in the dark.

Sometimes I come home from work after dark and we have 2 lines that parallel the highway I drive. When there is on coming rail traffic those lights are powerfully bright. I think these LED's give the locomotives a bit of that realistic look!!!!

Take care.

I also am working on my daughter to teach me how to post pictures or video.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Chessie

You may want to try the 24Watt'ers

I havent installed mine yet but from the looks of yours those 24's will be like a beacon like on the real thing at night.

If you want I'll give you the contact info for ACE ELECTRONICS where I got my bulbs.

With so much going on I haven't had a chance to install yet. Let's see what happens this weekend!!

What colors are you going to use for the ACL?
#24
I have yet to swap out my bulbs in my F-3's and ACL F-7.

I got a yellow bulb for the cab of the F-7 BUT the more I think about it a light blue hue color would

probably work much better.

When I am coming home sometimes after dark there is a NS and CN line that runs parallel to the road I travel on.
At night the intensity of the lights gives it a hint of blue hue color. With that said I will try that to.

The green looks cool too

My son Joey was given a WBB GP-38 Chessie for his birthday by my brother and sister.

It is a really nice engine!!!

ACL is a favorite of mine please post pictures when you get it!!

THat Seaboard RS-3 is really very well done WBB is doing a great job.

We have been really swamped around here and I haven't had a chance to swap the bulbs in the ACL F-7

yet.
Spring Break starts tomorrow for the little ones perhaps I can do it this weekend.

Someone on OGR beat me to it and it looks great

there was post on u-tube where someone had C&O F-3s where he drilled out holes on the bottom like you did wyatt but he installed a wig-wag- alternate flashing lights syste. It was really a nice add on and very realistic. He also could change it so the lights were on continuously

ACE Electronics has the replacement LED bulbs with all the conversions built into the bulb.  I just received the replacements in the mail and plan to replace the bulbs hopefully this weekend.

Follow my thread "Dem Bulbs""

Wyatt
Does that NS F-3 have wig-wag lighting on the bottom??

Great posts. there are a lot of talented folks out there!!!
